OMG, this thread is SOOOOOOOOO long...
I've just spent over an hour scanning through it cos i'm sure the answer to mu question will be on here somewhere, but my boss has just got back in the office, so i ahve to stop looking.
So, sorry for being repetative, but here's my question....
How much spending money do we need for a 14 night holiday in Disney?
We are a family of 5..... kids aged 12, 8 and 17, and plan to stay in one of the Disney hotels. Park tickets will be bought before hand, so i just need a rough idea as to how much cash we will need for eating.... We plan to hire a car, so won't be tied to eating in Disney.
Any idea anyone? Or even any info on how much you spend when you went??
.........it really is so cheap to eat out! As you've looked through most of these posts, you might already have an idea of the sort of places you'd like to eat at -if you check on any restaurant websites and look at their menus - that will give you a good idea of how much you might spend - don't forget the tip;)0 -
Hi
We used Skybargains - got a good deal for flight and car.
Good luck0 -
The easiest way to cover yourself is work out how much your family would cost you to eat out here in the UK then double it and tag a bit extra on .
ie. £40 per day say $80 and then £10 for extra drinks,so $100.
or £100 per day say $200 and then £40 for extra drinks = $280
Last time we went we allowed £50 per person per day.
It will depend on your standard of living in the UK and then just double it for a happy time in the StatesPreviously known as Bokken, registered at MSE in Nov 04,computer glich deleted my access but it is fun building up my stars from scratch,again.:D0 -
I have just bought my tickets for next year (Sept 08) at this years prices. Thanks to a user on another forum I use (thedibb.co.uk), they found a website that was offering great deals on Disney tickets.
The website is http://www.usrentacar.co.uk/ and you just click on the bit where it says TICKETS (right hand side). Prices are £156 for an adult 14 day Ultimate Disney and £136 for a childs version. Valid until Dec 2008, it's a UK based company (Camberley, Surrey) and they issue real tickets, not vouchers etc.
Their prices for Universal were not as good as some places so best to still shop around there. I called Attraction Tickets Direct to see if they'd pricematch it, but they said they couldn't. They did tell me that this place bought their tickets from them though so they are kosher and all above board.
Anyway, tickets delivered by RM Special Delivery (no extra cost) and some people already have theirs in their hands so no problem with non delivery so far. I'm waiting for £2000 worth so fingers crossed! :TKen Livingstone is my mother0 -
We always book our flights direct with the airlines - in our case for our upcoming Christmas trip with http://www.aa.com as we found to our detriment in 2004 that booking with a travel agent put us into a fare code bucket where we could not earn frequent flyer miles. We also find that booking direct with the airline (and checking their sites frequently) can turf up some fantastic prices. We're flying on Christmas Eve to Orlando from Manchester via Chicago and back via Dallas and Chicago (long way round to earn extra miles) for £323 each.
For hotels, check out http://www.hotelplanner.com - looks like it may strictly be for group travel but you can also book one room at a time. We bagged our hotel on International Drive for 17 nights for - wait for it - £300 less than the hotel's own website was offering the same room for!
We've found Universal tickets - 2 park/7 day - for £85.99 plus tax. That's got to be the cheapest yet. You can book direct on Universal's website for those.0 -

Received email this morning with Royal Mail tracking number. Tickets should be delivered by 1pm today. This is fantastic ... you save £23 per person on a 14 day Disney Ultimate ticket. The 7 day tickets are only about £7 cheaper so better to have the 14 day ones.Ken Livingstone is my mother0 -

Don't know if anyone is interested, but the tickets went on sale for the next Shuttle Launch today (6th December). The top tickets go in minutes, but there are (as of now) still some tickets for viewing from the Kennedy Complex, alternatively, being a money saving expert you can watch from Cocoa. I've even watched a shuttle launch from Orlando, just look due east at the time of take off, and keep the car radio tuned in so you can hear the local commentary. Even 55 miles away you could see the rocket separation, amazing... I think take off is scheduled for about 4.30pm.
Launches are notoriously fickle and there can be delayed, so if you're going to stand and look due east (well worth it) make sure its doing what its supposed to first, or you could like me end up looking at planes by mistake (only once)...
