Is it possible to do a 14 day hol without a 'rest day' lol?

Not a chance! You will need a holiday to get over the holiday :)

Rain rain go away come again another day .... So as you all know the weather in Orlando this past week has been pretty dreadful. So what do you do when its tipping down??

Well here are some of the things we have done over the years and countless trips ...

    - don't let it get you down. I know if ytou are hear for ten days or two weeks or whatever and it rains out for a few days it can put a damper on things. But there are things to do!!

    - my kids are still small at 6 and 4 so if yous are older I have added a few things in there that I'd did when I was a big kid

    - also it will depend if you are in a hotel or villa. Its easier in a villa in the rain as must of them have good cable. Video games etc.

    - you could try Monkey Joes www.monkeyjoes.com which is an indoor play park. Many slides and bouncy castles. Its located in Festival Bay Mall on I Drive near to the old Beltz now Prime outlets. Costs about 8 bucks a child.

    - if you kids are older next door to MJs is a Vans skateboard park (indoor)

    - you can try Disney Qwest in DTD which is an awesome indoor interactive theme park.

    - go to the pictures. There are AMC theatres all over with a great one at Pleasure Island. You even get free popcorn refills!!!

    - go see the Titanic experience. That's really quite good.

    - there is fun spot but this sometimes does not work when its really raining. Its more for big kids as it has awesome go karts and you can print vouchers etc from the net.

    - shopping!! Never complain about doing some shopping. Remember though the outlet malls are mainly outdoor malls so try Milina mall or Florida Mall. If its not too expensive Johny Rockets at the Mall of Milena doesome of the best burgers and shakes (or with Steak n Shake or Five Guys Burgers) then afterwards go to the Cheescake factory and they have tens of different ones each sold by the slice or as a whole pie. Yummy. Craigs Crazy Carrott is. But I would say that.

    - Roller and ice-skating rinks located immediately off of US192 near West Vine Street and East Irlo Bonson Memorial Highway respectively.

    - Wonderworks and the great comedy dinner show on I drive

    - if you are staying on Disney property why not take a trip around all the other Disney hotels especially the pricey ones. Costs you nothing and they are all awesome.

    - The Florida Aquarium http://goflorida.about.com/cs/attractions_animal/a/aa071403a.htm

    - National Museum of Navel Aviation whilst a little way away its free and massive http://goflorida.about.com/od/museumssciencecenters/p/navalaviation.htm

Hope that helps some of you!

    Cheers

Fab list cjd, gonna copy that out now....never thought of ice skating, we do that regularly here, my daughter has lessons, and I wouldn't mind buying some Reidell ice boots...half price over there. Be nice to skate in a decent rink, our local one is a dump!

Thanks Ed'lass, that's a good idea, do two half days in Seaworld, we will have an unlimited pass thanks to Discovery Cove. My daughter loves shows, we had to watch Benson the sealion at Flamingoland over and over again for a week! So much to do...so little time!!

In that case she will love Pets Ahoy and Shamu night time show is different to the day time show and Sea Lions Tonight is not to be missed especially if you have done all the other shows as it makes fun of them all. For any of the sea lion shows make sure you are there early as the pre show entertainment is very funny, if you can't be early certainly make sure you aren't late as you will become part of the entertainment :D

I know but strangely not if you are 7 LOL

I am taking my four year old onto Tower of Terror this week. He is adamant he is going, I am not sure! And my six year old Princess keeps watching the YouTube of Rock N Roller, she is also going to go on that twenty times I am sure!

oh to be young and fearless :)

I did the "sumit plummit" at blizzard beach a few years ago, but no one in our group wittnessed it and I was made to do it again while they watched.:rotfl:

I made them promise to follow me down though.

It is just like any other waterslide for the first 10 feet...... after that its just like your going to die for about 20 feet, then you scream for your mum for about 40 feet (your doing a thousand miles an hour by now) then you close your eyes and wait for the end, wich is still about 5 million feet down, STRAIGHT DOWN, it seems like it takes about 5 min to reach the bottom.:rotfl: (its actually more like 10 seconds)
“Careful. We don't want to learn from this.”

I think the next launch is in October, we just miss it which is a shame, but they often move the dates due to the weather.

i heard the launch in october had already been cancelled, may be wrong though, and when i was over there, i thought i saw on the news over there, that there was going to be no more shuttle launches anymore, and they were trying to get more rocket launches from kennedy, Dave

    All

This thread is a really useful one for many of us visitors to Orlando and Florida. However, if you do have time I really really suggest you check out this website.

its http://allears.net/ and was started many many years ago by Deb Willis. I have helped her over the years, not for a while mind, but the site is awesome. Its not a forum, its a real Disney fan all you can eat and know and all advice and menus and EVERYTHING you want to know about Disney.

If you do want a book, I would really reconmend the Brits Guide to Orlando. It comes out each year and costs less than a tenner. Use it as plane reading or train reading before hand. The first time I got this book I learnt so much about Orlando and it has great tips and what to do and where to go.

    2008 edition is available http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brit-Guide-Orlando-Simon-Veness/dp/0572033818/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1219261755&sr=8-1

2009 addition is availabe to pre order http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brit-Guide-Orlando-Simon-Veness/dp/057203489X/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1219261755&sr=8-2

Hope these are of use to someone.

    Cheers
