Spent most of this morning doing a floor plan of the bungalow.
    "Why?" I hear you ask.....
Well, the regulations regarding dog-boarding are changing, and the license application has gotten a lot more complicated; and one of the things the Council now want is a floor plan of the premises.
Hence dusting off my VERY rusty skills from my days working for the Valuation Office to comply with this.

Suzie has helped with Flying today though - she very kindly offered to check if there were any bits of cheese or biscuit/bread crumbs on the floor near where Mr Wolf made his lunch. :rotfl:
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Pressganged into working tonight. A suitable analogy for my day and evening would be if somebody were to be expected to cook for 80 people, but when you got there, somebody else wanted 3 trainees to do it on their own with absolutely zero help from you, then you had to chuck what they had sort of done away and start again, only to find that somebody else came in to practice making lunch for their 10 guests, using your ingredients and facilities and insisting that you attempted to do your original meal plan whilst they were also in the kitchen, but you couldn't use any of your ingredients or facilities as they were using them (and had rearranged everything so your oven had been put outside with no electricity or gas) and then insisted when you finally got back into your kitchen that you did it in the dark as it was disturbing them. Oh, and just before the starter went out, they told you that you had to make a wedding cake for a VIP. Who then changed their mind and didn't want it once you'd frantically made it in the cupboard whilst everything else was being cooked. But didn't tell you, they just walked away instead.

This crap is supposed to be entirely optional. Yeah, right.

OK, I managed it and everybody was happy - but I shouldn't have been put in that position in the first place.

And then I get home to find that, as Himself has fasting bloods being done first thing tomorrow morning, he's sulking in bed because he can't [strike]drink beer and eat Haribo[/strike] from half an hour ago, claiming he's really tired.

    What a knob.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

The good news is I have a new-to-me phone.

The bad news is the sim card from my old phone won't fit; I now, apparently, need a nono SD card,

    *sigh*

Pop into a phone shop they will crop your big sim into the tiny one.. they have a magic machine to do it!

Kitchen S&Sd, few pots washed and left to dry, dishwasher loaded and ready to switch on. WM set on timer. Bag packed for work.
Couple of items missing including diary so I am hoping I left them at work.

Tidied in DS's room, vacuumed through upstairs. Less stuff to deal with than there was this morning and bank account reconciliation almost complete.

Over the last few weeks my house has begun to return to the level of neatness and tidiness it used to be in. There are fewer heaps to deal with and those that there are are smaller.

It's been a long time coming.

Gained a morning to catch up as private student cancelled. Lounge and bathroom were tidy for her, kitchen is tolerable.
    Almost finished a report.
Did 5 items from email to-do list.
    Load in wm.
    On-line bank stuff done.
    Birds fed.
E advent calendars ordered for mum and I (yes at our ages of 60 and 87!)

Mr N is doing well with decorating: hall/stairs/landing paper stripped, walls washed, cracks filled, coat of emulsion on so new paper will stick, ceilings emulsioned. He has started glossing the woodwork so I will be able to help with that tomorrow. He's gone to check mil so I can keep working.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

Flying=checking the thread and reporting back.
    QED!

I have finally swallowed the giant cane toad - finished my decorating today :j

House is now being cleaned (I'm wielding the fevver duster and putting things away as I go round, DH is hoovering).
Utility is clean and tidy for the first time in ages :j
Also in the process of putting up beds and getting rooms ready for DD and family for tomorrow night. I should be able to see the spare bed by 4.00 :j
Rosie has already had her walk and is going to kennels later this afternoon for a week, as we are off to windy west Wales on Sunday for a few nights, then I'm having *another* party when we get home. She'll be far happier in kennels than with a houseful of people she doesn't know.
Stew for tomorrow night has been stewing since 8.00 - should be done soon!
