Sounds like everyone has been busy; except me.:o

I didn't get up until 9am and the day ran away with me. I am going to clean the kitchen floor now. The dining room will have to wait; it's a not often used room as we have a table in the kitchen too and I think Flylady would call the whole room a hotspot.:o One to work on I think.

Room of Doom (RoD) is our phrase for such a room... I'm special.. I have a House of Doom!!! Too much stuff and not enough space!

Shirlgirl. Read the opening post and dot-to-dot clean it. You could set a timer; do 30 minutes MAX then come back to it another day. These would be your MAD half hours. Once an area is clear/clean keep it that way. Eventually you'll have done the whole room. Everything needs a home and it needs to be put back there (The Valli mantra - 'Don't put it down, put it away'.
And remember - your home didn't turn into a mess in a day - it won't turn into a haven in a day, either. Life gets in the way. Sometimes it stops us in our tracks.

  • Hi all

Busy here, kind of working to my own lists this week. Have been doing overtime at work and need to decide soon whether I want to go back to my contracted hours or keep doing extra. The money is nice but its not all about money is it? Cutting my hours down would mean more time for me and more time to get other stuff done.

Taking Mum out tomorrow for some Christmas shopping. My brother is visiting at the weekend so need to make sure house is fairly tidy by then.

Thanks Valli. I have 2 rooms which aren't used and have become dumping grounds. I actually got asked if we'd just moved in by someone that saw one of them.:o The dining room is doable the other is an impossible task it's full of things that don't have a home. I will aim for 30 minutes in the dining room of doom tomorrow. It would be good to have it clear for Xmas for the one day a year it gets used.

  • Mopped the kitchen floor last night but I looked at the tasks for today they are far too large for where I'm at so I've found another list and I'm going to work from that. So my tasks for today are

    Clean microwave inside & out
    change bathroom hand towels
    clean skirting boards in bathrooms
dust dining /breakfast rooms (instead of dusting I will do 30 minute declutter)
clip children's nails (ok children are too old to need doing so I will do the dogs instead :D )

You are not alone Shirlgirl! I have had that said to me on more than one occasion...even by the gasman who should know better! We moved in 13 years ago....stuff is still in boxes...hence the Box Room aka (one of) my RoD.

    So today:
It has snowed, the biggest flakes ever, and settled.
It has rained torrentially, washing away the snow.
The sun has shone. Admittedly only for a couple of minutes.
I have been to the f&v market, W1lk0, Matal&n, Mr M. Food shopping done, including a few ys, and inroads made into Christmas. I went with a list and did not deviate.
Postie has just delivered another bit of Christmas.
Beds changed, 1 lot through the wm, but it may be a while before there is drying space for any more loads.
    Hair washed.
    Bathrooms now to be cleaned.

Oh yes, and the "temporary" (since 13 years) blind in the kitchen has finally broken irreparably. It is stuck closed, so I am living life in the dark. No change there, then.:D

Temporary blind of 13 years sounds just like me. :rotfl:

I'm not being very proactive today, only half my list done. Got to shoot off to collect DD from school soon.
