I plumbed in the washing machine which I asked OH to do
I plumbed in the new-to-me dishwasher which asked OH to do
I fixed the leaky loo Which I asked OH to do
I may have made the leaky radiator worse.. which I asked the OH to have a go at fixing.. plumber coming back out tomorrow.. hopefully he can make a better job of it than I did.
I've boiled, scrubbed and generally degreased the dishwasher.. the arms were full of dog food, plastic and egg shell.. the rails with think grease, in fact every nook and cranny was thick grease.. I ran it on a quick cycle, wiped off what I could with kitchen roll and scrubbed the rest with a brush and washing up liquid.. I ran it through another cycle.. re-did all the above 2-3 times.. filled rinse aid and salt and cleaned the arms and filters again.. it is currently on a 65' wash with toxic chemicals.. hopefully I can get away with just doing this the once.. but it is revolting.. and weirdly, it smells of dog.. inside!!
1 load of washing done and hung up on the airer and 2 lots folded.
DS2's christmas presents all bought.. I got him a game last week and 2 pairs of jeans and 2 hoodies today.. some smellies and he is done.. he is 22 I don't feel the urge to buy him more!
Still to buy for..
DS1/DIL.. I know what they are getting I just don't have the money today.
DD3
Moomin.. she wants trainers and make-up
Quaverface.. belt, DMs..
Squeak has a bike reserved at Halfords for Friday pick up.. I'm going to check pricing actually..
Dot.. I've seen a few more bits and have planned lego (cheap Smyths version)
Pixie I need a basket for her scooter and I've seen 2 little things I want for her
Then I can think about my 2 sister, OHs mother and his dad.. They are just little token gifts, nothing exciting.
CF has destroyed his relationship with Moomin.. then he didn't even text to say Happy Birthday.. she didn't want to speak to him but a text wouldn't have hurt.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Flying - used radiator brush to evict mouse from wall behind radiator (?) and dusted whole radiator while I was at it. Hoping mouse made bid for freedom through patio door.
Welcome Shirlgirl
Well it hadn't. It left its tail dangling, Poppy pulled it out, I grabbed Poppy. Mouse ran up other radiator. I grabbed tail, didn't work, so really vigorous application of radiator brush and down it dropped and this time we saw it exit through patio door.
Flying - both dining room radiators have been dusted with radiator brush. And breathe.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Welcome, Shirlgirl.
I'm now too scared to fly - or at least clean behind any radiators - in case I find a mouse lurking there. That is my excuse for barely flying today, and I am sticking to it.0 -

I've eaten a frog that I've been putting off...yay!!!
I've organised someone from a cleaning agency to come and look at the house so we can get a cleaner organised from next week hopefully.
Can't wait to have my house sorted out again and then I can keep on top of things with the lists in the week :T :TMortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Oh don't mention rodents roaming round the house (I should say WILD rodents - pet ones are fine). We have a dancing one in the loft. Noise suggests rats; evidence suggests mouse. Poison put down, found dead rat in pond outside kitchen. 2 nights of peace then more clattering.
More painting done by Mr N, more report writing by me.
Wrote more Christmas cards.
Had brief dance practice as checked calendar and our dance club Christmas do is on Saturday; thought it was next week
Booked Blackpool hotel.
Booked cinema tickets for tomorrow (half price day).

Thanks for that, Piggers! :rotfl:
I seemed to spend a lot of last night awake turning money expenses over in my head. There have been a few big ones lately, plus my car insurance is due soon. So much for success on the Scrimper challenge. Plus I have had to "borrow" my hard fought savings to pay for bills, which has never been the intention. Must do better.
Today is a day off from work (hmmm, see above!). Flying will commence once all have left the house. I am meeting a friend for lunch (ditto above). We made a resolution this year to spend more time together despite living 50 miles apart, and have been really diligent about making it happen, as some years we have gone the whole 12 months and more without meeting, even phoning. We have been friends since we were both 18, so more years than I am going to let on.
Onwards - DH has gone to work, DD is up and dressed, towels are in the wm, dw ready to run.
Have a lovely day, everyone.0 -
