Outfox The Market Direct Debit changes
Comments

Just got a new quote from OFTM to check prices and they are quoting current rates alongside the current membership fee with absolutely no mention of rate increases in January and no mention of the upcoming daily standing charge.
Considering my previous post about Uswitch already using the January rates that is pretty bad of OFTM to neglect mentioning known price increases coming in 3 weeks time.0 -
No real surprise, but I just thought I would timeline the emailed direct debit changes received so far. It appears to show a Company with no idea of what they are doing
30 Oct 2018 £71.75
15 Nov 2018 £125.56
21 Nov 2018 £71.75
22 Nov 2018 £100.45
30 Nov 2018 £71.75
02 Dec 2018 £152.13
Maybe there are two departments sending these emails out and they don't talk to one another? No wonder us customers are confused0 -
Same here, emails over the last month have started:
14/11Current £76
14/11 New £109
15/11 Current £120
15/11 New £169
22/11 New £211
3/12 New direct debit chaged to £196
They cannot even work out what I am currently paying. Account is in credit too.
Time to leave before they go bust.0 -
It is really worrying that this business went along pretty much unnoticed here. (other than often appearing as the cheapest along with Power Shop on the comparison sites)
And now all I am reading is about Outfox the Market and how bad it has become. Its the speed of how quickly it went downhill that worries me.
The name is definately mud now and I struggle to see how it can recover from this.0 -
The mess I was willing to tolerate if it meant getting cheapest deal, when that was not going to be the case with the 58p daily charge for both fuels I voted with my feet.Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"0 -
Not a single soul questioned why they would need to increase prices seeing the state of the current energy market but its the way they went about things. From here to there, from there to here. Thats right this is wrong, that is wrong this is right. It's not surprising really. There have been plenty of warnings, but they've been mostly ignored. Unless you're directly affected, chances are you'll just ignore it, thinking it's just some moaning customer or something.

It's not as if MSE hasn't known about it either, they've just chosen not to warn potential new customers
I think it's only recently they added a warning, but even now they're giving out inaccurate information.0 -

I got my new DD figure yesterday increasing quite alot, but it doesn't matter anyway as I am leaving. I've only been with them a short time, so the money i've paid so far should cover the energy that I have used. I will just massage the final meter reading to ensure that my balance is as close to 0 as possible, I may even give them an extra 50p to make sure I don't owe them anything!0
