On the 22nd Dec OutFox the market 'corrected their estimate of their revised winter DD payment from £152 to £122. I gave them the benefit of the doubt for their error. Today I got an email to confirm my DD payment would be £176.51!

What on earth is going on at OTM? Of course, the phone is engaged and the webchat is turned off. I sent them an email.

Anyone know what my position would be if I cancelled my DD? Giving them 7 days warning? I am not confident I will get a reply because I really don't think they are coping with communication at the moment.

Tomorrow I'm officially switched to another energy provider. What happens with my credit if from tomorrow, and until some random day in the future when they would pay out my credit, Outfox goes bust?

No. I am. Those estimates were given before they told me about their latest price hike, I wondered how much less it would be given their new pricing structure and in January would it be cheaper to remain with OTM. On the comparison sited Zapp November is not listed you see.

Despite telling me their DD would be lower as they’d made an error they still took £262 out in November instead of the £240 they said they would. I only use around £85pm so they’re taking 3x the amount, emailed them asking for my, now £850 credit back on the 20h Nov and still haven’t had a reply.

The quotes in my post were given on the last figures, before the increase. If that makes any sense

Your credit will be protected by the OFGEM SoLR rules. It may still take sometime to get it back though.
  • Isn’t it strange how a group of random strangers can sometimes meet over what in a few months will be a trivial issue I am sure.
I am in the same boat as most of you, my bill has gone from £45 to £72, then reduced to £54 on appeal and now an email on Sat has confirmed my DD will be £103, so just shy of doubling on 16 Dec, 9 days before Christmas. Like most I am on the low use tarif so I am a little perplexed.
Still I jumped ship at the first opportunity with nearly £400 credit in my account and unless anyone can offer me a legal reason why, I am cancelling my DD so that the £103 doesn’t come out. OFTM can then send me a bill for the outstanding amount once I submit a final meter reading.

Right. That's it. I feel there is a poster on here using 2 usernames. I am getting so confused by it. I am done here.

My DD amount has gone from

    £67.48
    to
    £82.03
    to
£1436.61 (followed by an email apologising for the mistake)
    to
    £143.65
    to
    £114.84
    to
£0.00 (followed by an email apologising for the mistake)
    to
    £114.84

And as of 5 minutes ago I received a new Direct Debit instruction informing me that £182.82 will be taken on 24th December and 24th of every following month until further notice!

    What the hell?

And that's just the DD related emails..... as we all know the price change emails are even more convoluted.

EDIT: This has to be a wind up surely.... The email address they've given to contact them if the DD instruction is incorrect is an invalid email address....

I wonder if OFTM and E7E have secretly been sold to one of the big 6?

That would explain the price shooting up to similar levels.
