If i was told it was a ex hire van i would not have got it.
So if it was that important to you, did you not check with the dealer BEFORE you bought it that it met your specific pre-requisites?
Is it his fault he didnt know you had this specific requirement?0 -
Do you want to be told when tea is ready, when to come in from playtime, toilet etc...
The above is not helpful...
OP.
Being ex-rental shouldn't be a problem. Could be better maintained than if it was in private ownership. The email confirms there was no obligation to disclose at the point of sale. I would advise you just enjoy your vehicle and your life.0 -

Thanks for your time
I rang the company just for advise.
No i never asked when i was in the car place. I never thought pf asking
So you'd a very specific requirement that appears (now) to have been very important to you, but you didnt ask the dealer if it met that requirement?
That would now be the dealers fault because.....?0 -

+1
I've had several ex-rental cars in the recent past. Saved £,£££s compared to a new one in doing so. I expect the O/P did the same.
Cant see how being ex-rental makes it any more likely to have problems0 -
Which vehicle (of the same model) would command a higher retail price?
1. Ex-personal ownership
2. Ex-hire ownership
If no. 1, did the OP pay a price commensurate with this, or with no. 2?0 -

You can continue to enjoy the vehicle you bought 2 years ago, or you can trade it in for one that you've been assured wasn't an ex-rental. You'd need to be careful though, because presumably you also don't want an ex motability or ex fleet, and thus you should have a careful search for who the previous owner was.
Realistically, if you had any comeback about being sold an ex rental (at 6 months old?) it'd have been before you left the forecourt. You've got nothing 2 years later, assuming you weren't lied to, and paid a fair price.
Given you've had it happily for 2 years at this point, it's presumably not given you many problems.
Rental cars are a lot better looked after these days - I take better care of them than my own because the fees associated with damaging them are horrendous. Sure it'll have been driven by an unfamiliar driver who might have abused the clutch a bit, but a private owner could have done that too. I wouldn't want to buy a car off my mother for instance despite being it a private owner.0 -

Any help would be great
Lets cut to the chase, not beat around the bush.....how much you after?0 -
How old was it when you bought it?
There are certain ages where is is all going to ex-hire (or similar).
And you can never be sure from the milage or anything!
I have bought a couple of cars like that. Well the same car twice sort of! Bought one with high(ish) milage, wrote off on ice flip. Got pay out of slightly more than purchase. Returned to same place and bought the 5 door version (low milage)! (Both because 5 doors are better and only got 3 previously as it was what they had in and well after the accident I noted it was worth waiting for a 5 as it is hard to open the heaver 3 door pushing up!).
Anyway ramble asside. I think my piont was I knew what it was because of the age and did not ask. I did find check off sheets under the carpet when I looked for the spare though!0 -

How long did you warrant the secondhand bulbs for in the secondhand cars you sold...and I hope you clarified how long the head dipped lights have been on for prior to the punters collecting the cars, including the CV's and personal statements from previous owners.
