Hello my lovely friends.Sorry I've been awol. I have had such a busy week.Oh dear MissyChrissy. Hope you will be ok. Take care of yourself.Well done on the weight loss SUgarbaby. You are doing really well.Phoebe, Sounds like you are making great progress with your bathroom. It will be worth it. I am so glad I went for the luxury option when I had mIne done, although a lot of the money went into the hidden work. Replacing and rerouting plumbing, ripping out old cupboards, redoing the ceiling, and resiting the door didn't come cheap but it gave me the opportunity to turn a dark pokey poorly designed bathroom into a posh bijou hotel style luxury spa style bathroom. Looks a lot more spacious now the layout is changed.New cooker fitted yesterday.....looks fab and I bought a nice brightly coloured chindi rug from eBay to brighten up the tiled floor. The tiles are laid in a herringbone pattern which I really like but I don't much like the colour, it's a bit dark. I'm thinking of painting it at some point but for now the rug makes a big difference.Caesarian scheduled for 26th October, unless DIL goes into natural labour before then. So either way in 2 weeks time he should be here, 🤞. She is very uncomfortable, I think it's another very long baby.I hurt my back yesterday, and had very little sleep last night so today I have been super lazy. I took some painkillers and have spent most of the afternoon dozing on the sofa. Thankfully my back seems ok now and I feel tons better. Going to round off my lazy day with Netflix. I did go to Asda this morning, splashed out on a smart navy blue kettle and matching toaster, plus one of those combined sandwich maker/grill thingies.I have also been having a bit of a spend on Amazon, taking advantage of their Prime bargain days. Some make up and vitamins, and a Tado controller for the central heating. DS2 will install it for me.Hope you are all well. We are still Tier 1, but apparently we are expected to go to Tier 2 in a few days. Hey ho, it doesn't really make much difference anyway. We will still be sticking to our family bubble for now. I'm not bothered, I don't miss gadding about. I dont mind living quietly in my cosy nest.Stay well my friends.8

My champagne moment was waking up feeling fine after being unwell since last weekend. I won't need to take any painkillers today at all.
I'm actually just looking forward to going out for a walk even though it seems like a chilly and dark day. I will get in some much needed vitamin D after being cooped up indoors all week. I will make lunch when I get home and we are going to watch a film later together.2025 GOALS

So pleased you're feeling better, Wednesday
More bathroom progress today....my lovely floor tiles are starting to go down and with any luck tomorrow we'll be opening up the new entrance to the main bedroom from the newly created rear hallway (and blocking the existing)!
I know what you mean about the importance of not scrimping in order to create a luxurious bathroom in which to relax/pamper yourself LL
This morning I was looking back at pics of the bath/shower rooms we've installed at previous houses and whilst this time we haven't gone full on high end brands (Hansgrohe Axor, Villeroy & Boch etc) as we did back then, I think that by the time we're done it will look fab! This is mainly because we've splurged in the right areas....and none of those other rooms had such funky tiles
I also dug out my gorgeous (mostly unused) Liberty towels, some of which were a Christmas gift from DH back in 2007!!! The rest were bought new on eBay six years ago for a fraction of the retail price and still have their original price tags. These are all finally going to get used.....
Talking of finally, yesterday I put the finishing touches to 'Captain Peacock', the main bedroom mural. He's worked out better than envisaged and saved us a fortune in wallpaper costsMortgage-free for fourteen years!

Good Morning my lovely friends....Champagne moment ....9 hrs straight sleep last night. Feel fantastic. Lots of family time, Lots of grandson cuddles, fun and games. No baby yet. Had a false alarm on Saturday so probably any day now. If not then Caesarian next week. All is well here.....other than mixing within our family bubble I have not been anywhere or done anything exciting. A trip to Asda doesn't quite cut the mustard in the excitement stakes.😉 But hey, I'm safe and covid free so all is good. Keeping busy and staying upbeat and positive. Might do a bit of painting today - console table for hall. Bought a plain Mexican pine one, going to paint it pale grey. Should look good.Stay safe and well my lovely friends. Keep busy and be happy. Take your champagne moments where you can. Keep smiling. 😎10
