Bala, it is not in the least bit weird that your learning disabled brother's stay with you resulted in untold champagne moments.
I miss being able to visit my family members, or have them come to stay, but this is life now and I have adjusted my expectations about interacting with my family.6 -
My Champagne moment today was taking receipt of my Superdrug online order. I bought 2 Nivea Men's sensitive gift sets reduced from £20 each to £10 each and CK Obsession for men EDT 125ml reduced from £59 to £23.6

Any news on the baby front, LL? I hope all continues well for your DS, DIL and family, not forgetting the expectant grandma!
So, the bathroom progresses! On Saturday the lighting was sorted which has made a huge difference, although currently things are a little awkward as the entrances have still not been blocked/relocated meaning that every time you walk into the bathroom or rear hallway at night, the switches are not where you'd expect them to be 🙄
Trouble is we have a chicken/egg situation as we can't block doors/open up new ones till the plumbing is complete, yet the vanity + basin are due to stand right in front of the existing door into the main bedroom....the joy of small/poorly laid out houses, lol!
Of course, when the old agricultural building was converted to residential use about 150 years ago, no thought was paid to bathrooms or mod cons and the entire first floor was given over to sleeping quarters. Anyway, first fix plumbing is happening as I type, so it's getting really exciting! The champagne corks (or prosecco at the very least) will be popping when we can finally have a bath normally after 2 years 8 months of having to fill numerous buckets!
On Friday my new curtain fabric arrived - another great eBay bargain @ £25 for 3.5m, when the retail price is £40 per metreBedroom curtains are now made/hung on my vintage chunky pole.
Late on Saturday we made time to visit our *local* TK Maxx (actually about 30 mins drive across country within Carmarthenshire to Carmarthen) to seek out a few finishing touches for the bathroom. Of course we can no longer go to Homesense, it being in a local lockdown area, but we still managed to find a few great items at TK.
Amongst other things we bought some beautiful quality Danish metal storage boxes for £12.99 and £14.99 (RRPs of £45 and £58 respectively), as well as small bronze coloured vase (£2.99/RRP £18.99) and a a toilet brush (£12.99/RRP £42), so lots of champagne moments there! The boxes are perfect for storing DH's shaving paraphernalia and my manicure/pedicure bitsWe also stocked up on Christmas wrapping paper/tags.
Having had a busy day decorating/sewing/log chopping and shifting on Sunday, we had a lazy but delicious supper of baked camembert, hot sourdough bread, pate, grapes and roasted garlic eaten on trays by the wood burner in the snug whilst watching a DVD.....followed by an early night as all our hard work is taking its toll.
Sunny but breezy here today, so trying to catch up with tidying the garden....although I really need DH's powerful leaf blower to make inroads into the mountains of accumulated leaves that would be more at home in the New Forest 🙄
Earlier I received a lovely email packed with news from a dear friend on the other side of the UK who we've known since we sold him/his partner an antique picture in the course of our old eBay business many years backHopefully when all this madness is over we'll be able to meet up with them again
Anyway, I fear the rains are returning so I'd better go and finish off outside. Hope the champagne moments keep on flowing.......

No! I tested pos for Covid on Wed. I think I picked it up babysitting a week past Sat. Both my sons and wives that I babysat for tested pos before me but I knew when I went for a test last weekend I was going to test pos. On a brighter note I’m gradually feeling better. I’m 68 so I’m lucky.6
