Good Morning Folks,
Just popping in to say congratulations to LL on the safe arrival of DGS2. 🙂In a world where you can be anything, be kind. (Caroline Flack)

My Champagne moment yesterday was my younger son coming with his laundry and deciding to stay around for a visit and for me to cook him dinner. I did a chicken and vegetable stir fry with a hot panfry sauce and he really enjoyed it.
I love cooking for my children, as they really show their appreciation of my efforts.7 -
Just popping in to say hello to all. Hoping you are all well.
Sugarbaby you are right. Appreciation makes me feel more joyful and purposeful. Trying new spices etc. And all because of my LD brother. As a family we always thank whomever has cooked but he always (almost) thanks me and asks if we can have the same the next day. He is all of my champagne moments.

Good Morning my lovely friends. So many champagne moments this week, helping look after my family and welcoming the new addition. He's gorgeous and my older grandson has been such a good boy. It was tiring but I loved spending the time with them.Home sweet home now, so time to catch up with myself and take it easy.......before the next onslaught of diy, tradesmen, planning, organising. I can feel My brain starting to whirr at the very thought of that to do list. But first a party tomorrow. Well a mini party 😂. to welcome the new baby and celebrate Halloween. I'm the host so I'm just about to head off to the shops to buy what I need so I can cook up a feast. Now that the baby is here I can now come out of my self imposed isolation and start getting out and about a bit more.......bearing in mind of course that we might be hovering on the edge of another lockdown. 😒. Never mind it will all end eventually and just to be able to go food shopping will be a treat in itself.Going to see if I can celebrate by booking myself a massage next week. I think I have earned a bit of pampering. 😉10

Some lovely moments celebrated. I have just been with my Daughter and ordered a new fireplace in limestone and fire to be fitted on the 13th November . going to have some decorating done and either a new fireplace or wood flooring, so undecided. my carpet is beige at the moment, my suite dark brown leather, one feature wall duck egg blue and plus duck egg blue rug. If I got another carpet I suppose it would have to be very similar colour. Its so hard deciding!

It's so exciting that the baby's finally here, LL
You've definitely earned a pampering session, and I know exactly what you mean about the mind-boggling prospect of the *to do* list(s), lol!
Do try to take things easy - if that's even possible with a toddler and a baby around - if you can!
Sheila, your new fireplace sounds lovely....and great to get it done before Christmas!
We still haven't completed the bathroom 🙄 although the finish line is in sight. It's my fault because at the eleventh hour I began dithering over whether to add a ceiling height wall of tiling behind the vanity/basin then couldn't decide on a colour!
In addition we had to get a plumber in to fit the high level toilet as DH just didn't have time with juggling his day job too. That delayed things even further. We have finally opened up the new bathroom/main bedroom doorway and blocked the existing and tomorrow we'll be opening up the new rear hallway which will give the first floor a completely different feel
Tomorrow night we will be having our traditional Halloween supper as we've done for as long as I can remember. It was a tradition in my family that DH and I continued - even when, as now, it's just been the two of us - through DS's childhood and beyond 🎃
The front door is decorated - although we haven't ever had trick or treaters here, it's far too rural - and indoors too, but if the weather improves we'll hold our spooky evening outside in the covered dining area 👻 After supper we've a couple of scary movies lined up.......
Just adding a pic of my main bedroom mural, Captain Peacock! Still awaiting a few finishing touches....as is the whole roomToday's champagne moments included my new light fitting being delivered. It's for the ground floor hallway, just inside the front door. Another eBay find/bargain ❤️ It's super but a little larger than I'd anticipated, lol!
