That's lovely Caronc. How kind of your friends to cherish and nurture you like that. I hope you feel better soon.

Well I had a wonderful day, a celebration lunch with my family at my favourite restaurant.

And.......to cap it all, I was able to fit into a pair of trousers I haven't been able to wear for 3 years.:D.

    Very gratifying.

Sounds like you have a good time with your friends this weekend. Hope you are feeling better soon caronc.

It's great when you can start to wear clothes you haven't been able to fit in for a while, isn't it LL.

    Thanks everyone.....

I really am trying hard with the weight thing.....,I am absolutely determined to lose weight, get fit and beat my blood sugar levels into submission.

I saw what diabetes did to my poor mum and I'm not going there. Whatever it takes.

I don't know why but finally I am managing to lose weight at long last, I have tried in the past and failed miserably. I genuinely think it's all about timing, when the time is right then good things happen. We have to get our heads in the right place first. And sometimes "stuff" - it could be anything.......grief, work, money worries just gets in the way.

When our lives are full of stress and worry, when we are feeling sad, lost, and miserable then losing weight, getting fit and healthy seems like climbing Everest.

I now know all I have to do is stay focussed and positive and all those good things I want in life are coming my way. Just got to work at it and stay on track.

SUgarbaby, I am copying you, exercising every day now. And although I love to sing, it's strictly in the privacy of my own home.:rotfl:

Or maybe i might join a choir again one day but I could never, not, in a million years, stand up on a stage and go solo like you do, what an amazing thing to be able to do.

Anyway well done on the weight loss.....keep working on that beach bod......and bring on the Carribean.

I was looking out for cheap bargainous cruises last night (well I'm always on the lookout). :rotfl: I'm never sure whether you get. The best deals by booking a long way in advance or whether its best to snaffle up a last minute deal.

I guess what I do now is famialirise myself with the prices so that I can recognise a really cracking deal when I see one and then just pounce. :rotfl:

That's the beauty of being retired......I could go at fairly short notice.

Anyway its glorious here. Just loving the warm sunshine today.

You're absolutely right LL about needing to be in the right frame of mind to lose weight. I did it back in 2010 with SW and still follow the plan now, well most of the time, LOL!

With regard to the cruise I think you're right about checking out prices now so you'll be able to see if something is a real bargain when you see it! Prices I think are usually cheaper as a last minute deal, particularly if you're prepared to leave within the next day or two. Good luck with getting a good deal when you decide the time is right.

It's Easter break here for two weeks, so dds are home. We had a lie-in (until 8am :rotfl:), I worked a bit in the garden, we had a leisurely lunch, and then went swimming. New-to-me swimming pool, nice, spacious, clean, salty water with just a hint of chlorine, warm. Entrance fee was just €9,50 for the three of us for two hours. I had packed apples and drinks for afterwards, which we ate in the adjoining playground. We noticed a huge bouncy castle track (at least twelve interconnected bouncy castles), which was free; the girls went four times, and I joined them on their last round :D
