    Hello all,
What a great positive thread,I've been lurking for a few days ,and I'll join in occasionally,if I may?
Love the champagne, and I'm definitely on a lemonade budget. Though I am very thrifty and a bit arty crafty.
My DH died, after years of ill health, five years ago.I retired 3 years ago ,nursed my Mum at home till she died.Sold my house, after I paid off the mortgage, moved house and have had loads done to it.
So now it's saving time for the next project, last rooms to be stripped back and decorated. The walls may fall when the paper is stripped off, they will be big jobs!!
I'm having a bit of a breather for a couple of years and concentrating on the gardens, and getting the outbuildings sorted.
I've been doing well on the 5:2 diet, and have lost 8 lbs in 3 weeks, but I eat when stressed and my DD2 has terrible problems at the moment.

    mrss

PS I used to be 'mrssnowy' but forgot my details ......senior moments

Hello Mrs Snowy.....glad you decided to join us. Sorry to hear you too, lost your husband but sounds like you are doing well rebuilding your life.

It's tough isn't it but it's what our husbands would have wanted - they wouldn't have wanted us to shrivel up and give in.

Well I've had a great Morning. Lots of nice little champagne moments.

Acupuncture followed by a few errands.

Bought the last big tree for the garden. It's taking shape and thankfully it's come in well under budget. I will continue to add bits and pieces of course but I now have the main layout and structure in place.

Popped into a chazzer, bought a little silver shrug to wear over skimpy dresses and tops £2.50, so hardly breaking the bank.

I recently ordered a faux suede trench coat, from EBay. Brand new with tags £23. It arrived today. It's much nicer than I expected for the price, it's actually rather gorgeous, the fabric is really soft and luxurious. I am well pleased.

Weight loss going well. When I took my coat off this morning for my treatment my doctor just beamed and said "you've lost weight". Now that was a real champagne moment. ;)

How exciting Sugar baby.......just 6 weeks to go. Keep working those muscles and get that "Beach Bod". You'll knock em dead.

You have both inspired me and made me feel guilty. So I'm starting getting back on the exercise today. I don't know why I stopped, yes I do, laziness and inertia......:rotfl:

I feel so much better when I exercise so here I go.

So my champagne moments today will be getting those endorphins going, the afterglow of exercise and feeling smug and virtuous. Also going to give myself some beauty treatments and do a bit of batch cooking, healthy stuff of course:rotfl:

    Have a great day y'all.

I've been there 10 times, but the last time was 10 years ago.Am going to Candolim this time, as it's a bit quieter, but will be visiting Calangute too :D

I went to Southern Goa in January. The weather was lovely but unfortunately we'd picked the wrong hotel. We were 5 Km from the beach but at least it meant we got plenty of walking done and were definitely fitter when we got home than when we went:T.

Last time we went to Candolim was probably nearer 20 years ago! Speaking to people when we were in the South the North has become really busy. I do hope Candolim is as quiet as you'd like it to be. Have to say DH and I have decided when we go next time, probably in 2 or 3 years time we'll go back to the North as we preferred it.

I'll look forward to hearing what you think when you come back.

Enjoy your holiday and make sure you've got plenty of books loaded onto your Kindle.

I was looking at Benaulim or Colva in the South, but a lot of places were a bit remote for me on my own.
I know Candolim's not quiet in general, but my hotel is off the beaten track. Goa will never be quiet though will it? :D

Agree a lot of the resorts are quite remote! We went to Colva one day and that was quite busy but the hotels seemed to be some way from both the beach and the town so very quiet when away from those. We only went through Benaulim and the town was fairly busy but no idea where the hotels were in relation to it!

We were supposed to be near Cavalossim but it turned out to be 7 Km away so we were roughly half way between beach and a big town!

It's raining here so it is a total indoor day for us.

I had a lie-in and then a lovely shower this morning.

I'm just cooking some homemade soup for lunch and I'm on another clothes dyeing kick.

Tulip red today as my wardrobe is getting a bit blue heavy!:D

I will watch a film with my husband later on.:A

    Good evening everyone,

First champagne moment after a difficult few weeks this weekend. I had a wee overnight at friends and was thoroughly feed, watered and looked after. They are fab hosts and a chilled out evening with plenty of chat, pooch cuddles & laughs really boosted me. It's nice to be "back in the saddle" and appreciating the small things again.
