I'm not a mother, only to a lot of furkids.:p
I've just had a lovely hot shower and am making a homecooked dinner later. I might watch a film on Netflix this afternoon.0 -
Candygirl Hugs It is always hard to love a pet but worse when it is so unexpected. Take care0

Good morning everyone......and another sunny one. Fabulous.
My champagne moments today will be meeting a friend for a nice leisurely lunch and a mooch round the charity shops.
Hope you all had a lovely restful day yesterday.
My lot descended, took over the kitchen and my eldest son was King of the BBQ. Lots of champagne moments. I like nothing more that filling my house with family and friends. Happy times.
I don't mind living alone now, I've got used to it and it has certain advantages but you really can't beat a home filled with love and laughter.
Maybe it's time I went husband shopping..
Can anyone recommend any "good husband shops" :rotfl::rotfl:
Only joking.......:p
Have a great day.0 -
On Saturday my Champagne moment was when my oldest son gave me £50 and also contributed £20 to the family Nando's meal. :T
My Champagne moments this Sunday was spending time with my 2 younger children. My younger son gave me a Mother's Day card that contained £20 and my younger daughter gave me a Mother's Day card with £15 in the card. My older daughter gave me 10 travel size Sanctuary toiletries, a gold suitcase tag and passport holder set , an 8 piece travel set in a box to decant toiletries into, a box of M & S Operetta chocolates, Deluxe Peanut brittle, purple body glitter and a burgundy red lip liner. My sister J gave me £20. :T:D:j
I was absolutely delighted with my presents, my cards and my gifts of money.
In the evening I went to Karaoke and had a very enjoyable evening. I sang 2 songs.
My whole weekend was an absolute blast!0 -
SUgarbaby, What a fabulous fun filled weekend, spent with your family. And your travel themed gifts sound just the ticket (ha ha pun intended) for your trip to the Caribbean. You will so look the part of glamourous jet setter. ::D
Had a lovely lunch with my friend (we met on the Amazon trip and have stayed in touch). She's amazing, she had a pacemaker fitted over 60 years ago when she was just 11 and has recently had the batteries changed. :rotfl: She is now back up and running (literally) and full of beans, isn't modern medicine miraculous at times.
I had a little mooch round the chazzas but wasnt tempted today. Currently just soaking up some sun and then off to WW later.
Then a nice easy supper and catch up' on The new Line of Duty.. Lots of champagne moments. Perfick.

DD1 had a BFF party/sleepover last weekend, DD2 had the same this weekend; they are easily and cheaply amused, and it gives me joy to see them with their friends.
Sunday night was the annual Femma party (similar to WI); excellent cold buffet, lots of women to chat with (I just plonk myself next to anyone who looks in need of a chat), really funny entertainment (2 semi professional comediennes). It cost me €25/£22, but well worth it.

Sounds like fun Siebrie and yes isn't it lovely watching our kids enjoy themselves with their mates......even if mine are now full grown men. I still get a kick out of seeing them let their hair down. They were great together at the weekend, a real double act. They had us "womenfolk" in stitches. They are still boys at heart.
It's horrible here. So I'm having an at home day. Have given myself a facial peel and mixed up some body oil, and facial oil, all using stocks I already have.
Beauty on a budget, maybe not as glamourous as the full salon experience but just as effective. My skin is now soft and glowing.
I have booked an appt next week for the skin clinic, need a benign cyst sorting and a skin tag removing. I'll leave that to the professionals. :rotfl:0 -
My Champagne moment today was going to watch the film What Men Want. Although I found the whole premise of a woman suddenly acquiring the ability to read men's minds far fetched, this film was very entertaining and kept on making me laugh out loud. I was dancing along to lots of the soundtrack as well. I would give this film7.5/10
It was a very special visit for me to my local Odeon, as I was the only person watching the film! :j:D:T I absolutely loved being on my own, it was like the cinema had laid on the showing of the film exclusively for me.

I wondered. About What Men Want, there was a Mel Gibs one a few years back What Women Want....:rotfl:
I don't really fancy it enough to pay cinema prices, not even silver screenings, I'll wait until it's on Plex. I did look into buying a monthly ticket but our Odeon is right across the other side of the city so it's a bit of a faff to be honest.
Well it's nearly the new financial year, time for a new financial challenge. I have decided it's time to use up some of my stash of "stuff". ....food, toiletries, cleaning materials even clothes now that I'm losing weight nicely.
So time to trim my sails and run a tight ship (so I can save up for another cruise....:rotfl:).
Setting myself a very low target this month. £60 for food. Realistically I only actually need fruit, veg and milk so technically it should be a doddle. Spent £10 today....
I actually said no to a £5 jacket in a chazzer today. That's a first!!!0 -
Oh, Candy I'm another sorry to hear about poor Zeus. He featured on the Strictly thread, too.
Champagne moments yesterday, stocking up on Clinique in Philadelphia airport. Picked up some for a friend - now OH has lost the receipt!Member #14 of SKI-ers club
