As custards said, why should RM pay you back for a mistake?
If you have to send something overseas to be repaired, then it's not liable for VAT and duty, whatever its value (as long as the tax was paid originally). For customs, only the cost of the repair is important. This doesn't affect its insurance value, so the value for customs and the insurance value are two separate things.0 -

Well not quite. If its repaired and original then yes.

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I have encountered the same problem. There are two questions I have. Can I pay the tax upfront so I don't have to pay the collection fee?
The second question is that the collection fee does seem to vary. Looking through the posts I've seen different amounts being charged. The amount I have been asked to pay is £12 plus the tax owed. I have also purchased goods that cost less than the threshold amount and still been charged for tax and collection0 -
