    Help please
I am going to my local boots shopping event tomorrow and was going to buy the following - could anyone confirm that this will work

    Oral B 8500 Toothbrush £ 37-39
    Disposable Camera £ 8-99
Olay total effects Hand £ 4-25

    Total Spend £ 50-63

Less Parenting Voucher £ 8-99 for free camera

    Amount Due £ 41-64

    Points earned 2000 Oral B
    500 Olay

Will I also get the 1000 xmas points as my spend is £50-63 or will it take into account the £8-99 discount for the camera hence the need to spend a further £8.99 to get the 1000 points

    Any help most appreciated

    thanks

You have to have £50 after deductions so you will need to spend another 8.99

Sorry could I also ask - I have a £5 off no7 parenting voucher - can I purchase no7 products up to the value of £18 - get my free gift - then at checkout - wait for them to put the products through the till, then hand over my £5 voucher - and then ask to pay for them in points or would I not be able to use the £5 voucher when paying with points - hope this makes sense

Boots are asking for a lot of upset customers and stressed staff if they are really going to insists everyone brings all three items back. Over the years I've had very different solutions to the problem but never been told you need to bring all the things back. Surely an exchange for another 3 for 2 item could be done without all the other stuff being dragged back in.

I just do as I've been told...

I'm fairly new to this 'points boosting' even though I have always used my AC when in Boots. But I used to get a mailing now and again, always once at Christmas and it had a little voucher at the bottom of the covering letter for double points. I've just realised (after reading a post about using a double points voucher) that I've not had one of these magazines for at least 2 years. Are they still being sent out or have they replaced it with the collect in store mag? Will email CS if I'm missing out!!!!

Yes, mailings are still being sent out, so you might want to call CS.

Worked for me the other day. Sorry I meant getting the gift paying with voucher and cash. You can also get the gift if you pay with points, but can't use voucher then.

£5 voucher won't work when redeeming...when paying with points you can't mix it with any other payment type, whether that be cash/card/MOCs etc.

The public can indeed be an absolute nightmare! What's funny though is that many come in ready for a fight, talking about their rights when in fact they are NOT entitled to a refund/exchange by law, this is a benefit Boots offer in addition to their statutory rights. They are actually only entitled to refunds on faulty goods or good that are not as they were described at time of sale.

Also can I just point out that sometimes the till flashes up for us to keep the customers ad card and to tell said customer that there is a fault with the card and to phone the ad card helpline. When this happens please don't get aggressive as we are only doing our job, and as stated in the ad card T&C the card remains the property of Boots and can be recalled at any time. eg if fraud of any kind is suspected... be careful on here as we all know Boots Head Office read these posts! :)
  • Returning items on 3for2 (assuming you are exchanging - for a refund you would *obviously* need to return the other items):

If for any reason the 'free' item changes, then the SA has to manually adjust prices to zero. Not only does this require authorisation from a supervisor (or other qualified staff member), but SA can still get in trouble for it after this...Wouldn't you find someone selling your stuff at £0.00 suspicious?

The most serious problem, however, is that no matter what item you exchange (even if just one of the 'paid for' items and the free item doesn't change) the customer would walk away from the transaction with a receipt for a single item, with nothing linking it to the original 3for2 transaction. A dishonest person could then take that individual item back with the new receipt and get a refund...making the 3for2 offer a BOGOF offer.

My advice...if the other two items u bought originally are stocked in the store, take the item to be exchanged to the till with 'copies' of the other two items from the shelf. This will allow the SA to effectively refund the original transactin and process the new 3for2 transaction with ur exchanged item, scanning the items from the shelf with no need for you to bring them from home.

Remember of course that a lot of the SA's at the moment are xmas temps = no refunds/exchanges from them

When I got to the shop the manager was really rude to me and wouldnt take anything saying that shops did not take any thing from .com. I told her to phone boots customer service but it was a saturday and she waited for twenty minutes on the phone before saying she gave up and i'd have to come back another time.
Remember, there's nothing to stop YOU from phoning customer services on your mobile when you're served by someone from the Eva Braun Finishing School. ;)
