I agree. I asked about this Christmas and was told that it was being considered for this year but obviously not.
Also where would I stand if I took 1 item back without a receipt. I bought it for a present but it has been duplicated. Some of us don't want to pay for 2 items to get a third if it is only one that we need!

I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. If for any reason the 'free' item changes, then the SA has to manually adjust prices to zero. Not only does this require authorisation from a supervisor (or other qualified staff member), but SA can still get in trouble for it after this...Wouldn't you find someone selling your stuff at £0.00 suspicious?
The most serious problem, however, is that no matter what item you exchange (even if just one of the 'paid for' items and the free item doesn't change) the customer would walk away from the transaction with a receipt for a single item, with nothing linking it to the original 3for2 transaction. A dishonest person could then take that individual item back with the new receipt and get a refund...making the 3for2 offer a BOGOF offer.
My advice...if the other two items u bought originally are stocked in the store, take the item to be exchanged to the till with 'copies' of the other two items from the shelf. This will allow the SA to effectively refund the original transactin and process the new 3for2 transaction with ur exchanged item, scanning the items from the shelf with no need for you to bring them from home.
Remember of course that a lot of the SA's at the moment are xmas temps = no refunds/exchanges from them
Thanks very much, you explained it better than I did. I tried to point this out to customers instore but it didn't go down too well lol.
I love the ad card nights, I get to sleep in...but I also have to be in charge of a group of 16 year olds tonight which is tough cos I'm the only cashier able to do refunds/exchanges :eek:0 -
