Hi Missfrugalpants...and all the other new recruits.
DLB, it may be that your filter on the washer needs cleaning, if it has got clogged with fluff, that will hold the soap and that's possibly why it isn't rinsing away.
Quite a sucessful day so far, I lost 1lb at Slimming World :j almost back to my target weight.
Got something out of freezer for Mr Twit's tea.
And....i have finished my twirly scarf.....(well I have to weave in the ends) I will post a piccie when Miss Twit gets home from school, as she has my camera...and I don't really want to venture into her room as I may never return.
Off upstairs now to try and sort out more stuff for the car boot on Sunday.
Enjoy your afternoon.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Made it!!!
I have escaped from the cupboard which is now tidy for the first time in two years. Lots of paper and card in the recycling, big bag of stuff for the charity shop, two raffle prizes waiting to go to my fundraising friend, two picture frames to go to the attic, no spiders and a modest heap of rubbish. YAY!!!
Sideboard tomorrow.... at least there is no risk of anything alive in there!
Just had a lovely bunch of flowers from w**k, felt like it was a reward for cleaning. Shall type a thank you note as still can't grip a pen.
Quite chilly now so wearing my blanket as I don't want to put the heating on, which Womble did that?
Hello to ms-frugle-pants!!!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Good afternoon everyone!
dlb - how disappointing about your kitchen! Same thing happened to a lady I worked with - she and her sister had lived in their 50yo council house since it was built (it had been their family home), and she was thrilled to hear the council were replacing the kitchens. When their man came to look at hers, he said "I'm really sorry, but you've looked after this kitchen so well that it's still in good condition so we can't replace it." It was 50 years old, for goodness sake! Still, I bet it will still be going strong when the replacement ones are falling apart.
Scuzz - hope you have a lovely birthday and a much happier year to come.
Penny-Pincher -sorry to hear you need an op, but I hope it will make you feel a bit better or at least stop you from feeling worse. Thinking of you.
Penelope Penguin - what an interesting present! Are you planning to have a smallholding, or would you have room for a couple of pigs in your garden?
Kyle - Christmas decorations in November?????  Seriously though, I know you like to get them up early so you feel Christmassy. I have enough trouble persuading DH to get the tree out of the loft in time for Christmas Eve!
Haribo - hope DTwin2 gets well quickly and that her sister doesn't get it, whatever it is - there seem to be so many nasty bugs doing the rounds atm! And I hope you've recovered from the reindeer!
Pink-winged - I was pleased to see I'm not the only one who leaves the hoover in the middle of the hall to force me to use it
luxor4t - hope you have managed to get out of the Cupboard of Doom! (Edit - oh yes, I see you have!) As for your OM - 6ft 8in?! And I thought my OM had enough problems at only 6ft 3in! Now I realise he's a mere titch!
Edited to add Welcome to ms-frugal-pants!
MUST do some hoovering in a minute.
Dinner tonight is one of Nelski's favourites - Freezer Surprise! I'm pretty sure it's chicken curry, but I forgot to label it before putting it in the freezer and by the time I remembered, the Chinagraph pencil wouldn't write on the lid because it was too cold.Still, I'm feeling quite pleased because whatever it is, at least it's a HM ready meal!
:A
Mioliere - that cemetery sounds beautiful. Glad to hear your FIL is coming over for a while. Whereabouts in Cyprus does he live?
Right, better go and get this hoovering done as DD2 and DGS will probably turn up presently - she's visiting a friend this afternoon, but if DGS starts falling asleep on the way home she pops in here to get him woken up enough to go home and eat his tea! I'm a bit worried about her atm, the midwife told her to rest but she isn't getting nearly enough sleep as DGS wakes so early since the clocks went back (his Dad has to get up at 5.50 to get ready for work, and however much he tries to be quiet the baby always wakes.) She said yesterday she was going to try a thing called "waking to sleep", whereby you set your alarm for about an hour before the baby usually wakes, when he should be in a deep sleep, and go and rouse him a bit but not enough to wake him. Then, at the time he's been used to waking, he should be in a deep sleep again and won't wake until later. It worked when he was younger, so I hope it will this time.
(((((HUGS))))) to everyone who's sad, not well or has ill children/OHs.
Bestwishes

Afternoon all.
Welcome MSFRUGALPANTS - hope you enjoy it here!
CRAZYCHIK and PIPKIN - hope you both feel better soon.
IVYLEAF - FIL lives in Paramali, near Limassol. They used to live in a house in the mountains (Troudos mountains, I think) but they moved nearer to civilisation last year - just in case they needed help as they were getting older which, of course, they did. It's just a shame that MIL did not pull through. At least FIL is safer where he is now - he was too remote before. They have lived in Cyprus for over 20 years so he feels it is more his home, now, than the UK.
Well, I finally finished sorting out my wardrobes; I have a load of stuff on the line and a huge pile of ironing which I will do tomorrow. All my really summery clothes have been put away and been replaced by the winter stuff, and I've dug out my boots, scarves, gloves and hats so - bring it on!! Oh, and I found a handbag I must have bought in a charity shop last year and forgotten about, so I need to transfer all the stuff out of the bag I've been using, which I'm sure has shrunk because it's crammed full of 'just in case essentials'!
Will pop back later to see how you are all doing. Off for a cuppa!

I'm going to do some paperwork now - I have a couple of hours until DH gets back from work so I might as well make the most of it.KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

Hover??Sounds exciting.
If you have bacon, wrap it round the chicken and bake in oven...Stuff them first with some dried herbs and cheese if you have them. Is it breasts?? Chop it up, fry with some mushrooms and onion, make a white sauce and add to pasta. (was going to suggest bunging in some wine too but I doubt you have much in the way of leftover wine.)
There...Helpful or what?
welcome to miss frugal pants....You'll be a bit lost on the board today as there seem to be alot of old threads being bumped and moved to the appropriate board. I've been confuddled by it all day. Lucky we have Pink and Gingham to keep us tidy.0
