    Happy birthday Scuzz :bdaycake:

Hugs to Mrs Mix and Pen Pin and anyone else needing a cuddle :grouphug:

Work today, so gammon in the slow cooker tonight - meant to cook it yesterday, but did spag bol instead, with lots of garlic bread, so anyone want a kiss :p

Hope everyone has a good day x
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D
  • Good morning everyone! Not much to say - off to w*** today, but needed to tell you that DH and I have bought our Christmas Prestent. We've booked a day on a farm in Wiltshire, to do a day's pig rearing course :j :T What do you think of that Aussie - do I need to be committed ;) It's not until April, but we can't wait :p

    Happy Birthday Scuzz - don't worry about being grown-up. At 24, you're still a babe :T :bdaycake:

Must rush - Shez is here, so it must be later than I thought :p:p Go for the pumpkin deely boppers :j

Have a great day, Penny. x

    Morning all!

    SCUZZ - Happy Birthday - 24! I remember that! Have a great day!:bdaycake:

AUSSIE - glad Benny is improving.

PAM - My head just won't switch off when I get into bed, no matter how tired I am. I just think it's a 'woman' thing. There is always so much to do and I think half the time, when I should be going to sleep, I'm planning for the following day.

PENPIN - let's hope you get the operation before Christmas; you should not be expected to wait for long with what you have to put up with. Good luck.

TWINK - congratulations on making it into print! I expect the book cover to say 'Collector's Edition - contains TWINK'S Recipe'!

DLB - so sorry to hear about the kitchen. You've obviously looked after the existing one too well.

Well, DH has just left so I thought I'd get on here before I get dressed and crack on with the housew**k. I'm going to sort out my wardrobes today. All my summer stuff is squashed in with the winter stuff which means it doesn't all get worn - I've been meaning to do it for ages, so that will be this morning's main job - we've had three different charity-collecting bags through the letterbox so I should be able to fill at least one of them! I have five things to iron but there will be more once I've done the wardrobe, so I'll put the ironing board up ready and just do it on and off during the rest of the day.

I babysat last night for the grandchildren which involved bathing them. They were both a bit hyper - but still lovely with it - so we had a lot of laughs together.

FIL is coming over to the UK soon so there'll be no time for DH to go out to Cyprus. He'll be staying with SIL for Christmas so we'll probably see a lot of him over the next few weeks. He is coping better after the initial shock of MIL being taken ill and passing away the way she did but, of course, it's early days yet. He told us that the cemetery in Cyprus, where she was buried last week, is solely for the British ex-pats. The local British people have bought loads of land, covered with ancient orange trees, and, every time someone dies, they take out a tree to make room for the grave then plant a new tree elsewhere. I think it's such a lovely idea. Apparently, it's a beautiful place and FIL says it is comforting knowing that she is there.

Well, after my successful session at the gym yesterday, I had made up my mind to go again today but I don't think I will. I'll go tomorrow and Saturday. I'll take it easy this week and get back into the swing of it next week. I don't want to set myself back now - there's too much to do now! (I have DIL's birthday on Sunday, DS2's on 6th Dec, as well as a couple more birthdays, then Christmas and then both grandchildren's birthdays in January - three days apart. I try and get all their presents organised at the same time as the Christmas ones to save all that 'present-buying fatigue' afterwards.) The gym have introduced a 'Fruity Friday' once a month now! You have to work your way round the circuit in the opposite direction to usual, then grab a piece of fruit on the way out! Sounds like healthy fun.

Well, I think I'll have a shower and get cracking. Hope everyone has a great day. (((hugs))) to all in need and will see you all later.

Good morning everyone, and happy birthday to scuzz -so young :p:D

My ds2 is very excited as he's off on a residential field trip until Friday -he's going to love it.

I'll be getting them all some beans on toast in a moment.

Lunch boxes are pizza whirls, apples/pears/clementines (Ds1 never eats his fruit at school  ) and gingerbread.

Supper tonight is.....ermm...not sure yet...might be ham slices from the freezer, salad and baked spuds/wedges...or me and OH might have stuffed mushrooms instead of the ham  There's leftover jelly whip for the kids and I've still got crumble left from Saturday -should I chuck it now ?

I'm off to the hairdressers this morning. I'm also after a new shower curtain and I might do some bookshop browsing for Christmas.

Have a good Os day all:wave:

    Morning all

Shez - stop confusing us all by posting so early. :p

Scuzz - Happy Birthday - hope you have a great birthday week, I remember turning 24, I was about 9 weeks pregnant with DD2 and couldn't stop throwing up - lovely.

PP - What sort of op are you in for? Hope everything goes well....how are the chickens?

PenPen - Ohhhh I looooove pigs - I'm quite jealous.

Hugs to the rest of you.

Still got DD1 off from school - she didn't eat enough yesterday to keep a gnat going let alone fuel her 20 min walk from the bus into school and then actually survivng a day at school. Will try and feed her up a bit more today - even had to help her into the bath last night as she's so weak and shakey - amazing how these sicky bugs can take it out of you.

Got to go to the new house today and put the DD's beds together - hardly anything left at this house now - just the white goods and sofas but we can't move until Friday when DH is off and a friend is letting us use his van......really easy to clean though when there's no nicknacks or furniture :T

Jacket spuds tonight, foods gone out the window a bit this week - we just don't have the time to eat it and it's showing in my waist line as I spent all day hitching up my trousers that now go over my hips without being undone - time to dig out something smaller me thinks.

Hope you all have a lovely day.

  • Morning everyone,

Happy Birthday to scuzz. Have a great birthday week!
mrs mix do you have a general market near you? We have one and a stall sells all sorts of things - braces, cloth caps, wigs, proper wraparound aprons, lots of old-fashioned things that you wouldn't find anywhere else. Donny-gal is right - try the charity shops or Greenwoods.
patentgirl remembered to phone the dentist yesterday. Receptionist said she would look into DD's referral to orthodontist and if it hasn't been done she will do it. Our waiting list is only about 6 months so not too long.
redruby going by your "recipe" I may need to add another 3/4 of a mars bar to the vodka. What to do with the other 1/4 though............? :D
anniestar :hello: heard Level 42 on radio a few times over the weekend. Are they touring or doing something new?

DS was feeling a bit "fluish" yesterday - not sure if he just felt cold or is actually coming down with something. Will keep an eye on him.

W**k today but nothing much after that so will get some more decluttering done. The men at the recycling site must be sick looking at me. :o

Had some chicken to cook yesterday but was a bit fed up with the old usual recipes so I downloaded one from the BBC food website for Spanish Chicken. It had orange juice, worcestershire sauce and sherry in it. Turned out very yummy so will be making that one again. No idea what's for dinner tonight though.

    Have a wonderful Wednesday. xx
