Potted lots of 10p coins and other coppers when I’ve found them laying around. It’s going to be an expensive time in the next couple of months with DD changing schools so new very costly uniform and bus ticket so not sure how much I’ll be potting but hoping to have at least £150 to put towards Christmas by the time we open up the pots.

Morning all, sorry I've not been here for a long time, potting has still been active!

Two days in a row my eldest DD hasn't been at breakfast club so that's £5 to pot.

I want to start potting everytime I don't use the car for a journey or don't use the tumble drier and dry on the line instead - as a way to motivate me. Anyone else do this? I'm not sure how to work out how much it will be.

That's a great idea MushyPeas :) If it were me, I would give myself a flat fee, so for drying outside it would be 10p per item or perhaps £1.00 for a full line 50p for half a line. Then journeys could be 50p per mile or 50p each way. Whatever you pot, it's all a bonus!

    Great ideas, thank you :-)

I might do 50 p per non-tumble drier use and then look at mileage too.

I live in the top flat - flat 4 of a house and going down to the washing line seems a long way and takes time, when I'm supposed to be working from home! And then there's the weather :rotfl: so I need some financial motivation :D

Confession time - I opened my pot last week...

I have decided to reduce my hours at work after much soul searching. I have been wanting to do this for ages but I had a loan to pay back and I couldn't reduce my hours and make the full loan payment. I figured out that if I used some savings plus my pot cash I could pay the loan by the end of June which allows me to reduce my hours from July (and save a little interest).

I had more than expected in my pot- £540 so I have kept £100 to start my new sealed pot and my new goal is try to get to £540 or beyond by October 31st.

    Maddie

I quite understand the reasons for you having used your SPC cash, Maddie. However, still having a £100 to start off again with is marvellous and shows how well you'd saved!!!! :j Don't forget to pop the amount taken out on to your siggy and include it when you declare in October as one way or tother you'd saved it!!! ;)Excellent work and congratulations!!! PS. New Target updated.

It's great to see you with an update on how you're doing, Deni!! Keep the good work up!! :D

Who knows, Hetty, you could well be right with the roadkill being a lovely message from Mum and Dad!!! I always consider that it's from the angels, so.....! :A

Excellent potting siju!!! :dance:It's wonderful to hear what about the amazing time you all had! Our class often has a reunion, also we keep together on FBook. Still all as daft as we were all that time ago!!! :rotfl:

Most of us get those expensive times, Treadingwater, don't worry though as so long as you're potting what you can, that's all that counts!! I hope your DD settles in and is happy. :)

So long as you're still potting that's all that matters, Mushypeas! :D Yes, I reward myself with £4 whenever I don't use my tumble drier, cash for saved pour moi and electricity saved for our planet!!!!

    Morning Sue-UU and everyone!

Very proud of myself, fourth day in a row with no breakfast club so that's £10 potted this week, going to make it to £12.50 tomorrow! And that's also 4 car journeys saved, £1 a time!

Also planning to not use the tumble drier today, going to pot £0.50 a time for this, not sure I can be as generous to myself as you Sue-UU!!

    Happy potting all :-)

Still potting away. Coin tin is starting to feel heavy and I think I may have to buy another soon. Weekly £10 going in another tin. Going to try start adding more as want to use the total towards a holiday next year once DS has finished his exams.

Hi there MushyPeas. Brilliant saving from the non breakfast clubs, the car journeys saved too!!! :j
Oh believe me, I'm not generous with potting the £4 when I don't use the tumble drier, I'm just very aware of what the cost is when giving in to it's use as it's just about the most expensive electricity-eater we all have!! :( Rain again today and I had a few coloureds, including jeans, to wash; they're washed but won't be on the line until tomorrow, so... that's £4 saved again!!!

A great idea, Hettyhound!!! :rotfl: :j

Excellent potting yet again, Robin!!! It's always a great idea, if possible, to save more than we are! Put it this way, you can NEVER save too much!! PS, if your pot's nearly full then why not open up, count it and bank it? It'll save buying another, and the cash saved can be potted!! :T Just don't forget to add the amount banked to your siggy and declare it in October! :D

£15 potted after shopping done for the week, inclusive of the £4 saved for not having used the tumble drier!!! ;)

Make it a relaxing evening and smashing weekend, Potters..and feed those pots!!! ;)
