I added £7 to my pot this morning but as I’m also counting down the days until payday next week I don’t think I’ll be adding anything else until then. I’m now up to £15.
Hope everyone has a relaxing Easter/Bank holiday weekend!CC Debt:£450 Emergency Fund: £1,500 Sealed Pot Challenge 2020 #042: £750 -
Aternoon Pottersssssssssss
Well after all the holiday drama, first Jake can't come, then he can, then Mum falls over in South Africa and fractures her Ankle and Toe with torn ligaments that wasn't healing so was looking like she then couldn't come  She finally got into the xray yesterday and was told its all healing nicely, her space boot can come off and she's good to come with usSo I can FINALLY start planning and getting excited!
I have told everyone that if anyone else finds a reason that they might not come I will be going by myself :rotfl:
Just need to remember to speak to our Georgie whilst we are away on facetime to my dad (he will be bird sitting), as last time we went he was fine with mum and dad for about a week and then got really quiet and wasn't leaving his perchwe facetimed and mum happened to be sitting in the kitchen, as soon as he heard my voice he was chirping and running round the cage so we think he might have been missing us.
Birds are funny things, they do get attached to you, he likes to groom us which I did read means he sees us as his family
Anyway! I am about to start a new shrapnel tinand £2 coin tin is not far behind, I must find more £2 coins :rotfl:
Enjoy this glorious weather this weekend everyone, its so warm here I was actually contemplating swapping my jeans for some 3/4 lengths, now as someone who wandered round Orlando in August in 3/4 lengths this tells you how cold I always feel so for me to swap out my jeans, its got to be darned hot!SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -
Been an expensive month so not potted as much as I would have liked (did a few bank shifts last month) but raided my change jars and put £65 into my pot today so it's not too bad.

2x 5ps found in the pocket of a pair of jeans this morning, so added to the pot! It won't make a massive dent, but it's a start!Sealed Pot Challenge 075

Morning all
Thank you again for the kind messages of support. X
While tidying through hubby's stuff I found 8 old £1 coins, nationwide allow you to pay those in to your account, not sure if other banks/building societies do that. So £8 added to my Pot.SPC~12 ot 124

It's confession time, so prepare yourself for a waffling long post! Well I made into April until I opened my sealed pot. My youngest is going to see her friends in a local village and needed some cash. Our nearest cash machine was ripped out months ago and still not replaced. The closest machine is in another village 8miles away and it seems silly driving 16 miles to get £20.
I've opened the pot and have given her £20and immediately moved £20 from our joint account into my sealed pot bank account. I've made the decision to take the rest of the notes out £60, use that for our spends over Easter and transfer the same amount across to the sealed bank account. That takes our sealed bank total to £221.35. The tin is about 1/3 full of coins but I've resealed it without counting it, so at I have a little surprise!
I'm annoyed with myself for doing it, but it was worth it to save 1/2 gallon of fuel:mad:Finally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
Choccygirl123 good move on using the pot rather than going to the cash machine. Also good move on the replenishing. It can be handy as part of budgeting and good money control. Remember it is your money so no need to feel any guilt.
The sealed pots are our money. Yes the challenge is to keep it to the end of the year. However, it is better to use the money in the pots rather than spend unnecessarily on cards or from our banks. It does make us think however before spending, which is really important in becoming and staying debt free.
For me yesterday I was able to put a bit more into my jar. So I now have over £150. I was actually thinking yesterday about my eventual plans for it. Not yet decided, I guess it will depend on how much is in it.Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.0
