I caught my Mum check if my house plants had been watered on their last visit, lol. They are lovely but they like everything in it's place and clean and tidy. With the depression I find it difficult to motivate myself to do the household chores. I have to prioritise keeping ourselves clean and presentable and going to work. If I can do more then that's a bonus.
I have had a great time with them today, and not just because they brought cake and gave me some birthday moneyI, of course, fed them Olio Pret food and splashed out on some Pringles to go with it. Cake for pudding so didn't even have to make the crumble. They offered to take me and DS2 out for a meal but I couldn't do it, DS2 went though.
I am working the next three days and have collected enough Olio Pret food to cover most meals at work for two of those days.
Have a great weekend everyone.Without overpayments: 15 years, 1 monthsBecause of overpayments: 10 years, 10 months left until paid off3 -
I have worked the last three days so haven't been doing much money saving. I did go online to look at when my fuel bill was coming out of my account. It suggested I lower payments from £63.50 to £57.10 which I done. This has been a real moral boaster because my accounts at the of September 2025 now stands in the black. From minus £300 ish to now £9.33. There is a long way to go and obviously this only accounts for the items I have budgeted for. But it's a rough idea of what my finances will stand at September 2025 when the mortgage is paid off. I will try of course to inch it forward to August.
Tomorrow is my 50th birthday and I am attending a Wellness event paid for by my hospital. I'm looking forward to a relaxing day.
PA is really slow but I did manage a Popul one for £2. Only £14 until the payment threshold of £50.Without overpayments: 15 years, 1 monthsBecause of overpayments: 10 years, 10 months left until paid off3 -

Thank you for all the birthday wishes. I had such a wonderful day. I went on the Rest and Restore day at a local retreat. The morning sessions were talking about the effects of covid on us. We then talked about things that can help us, prescription drugs, food and alcohol were mentioned. We then done yoga outside in the sunshine. After lunch we learnt how to raise our self esteem and improve our outlook and then we had a gentle walk around the beautiful grounds. The venue allowed us to use the facilities for free and we had talks from NHS staff and a therapist that done it for free. All organised by the hospital I work at. I feel I learnt some things that will really improve how I see myself and how I will cope in the future. Oh and I found a £1 in the grass. A colleague bought me some gin and chocolates for my birthday which was lovely of her. Especially as I don't know her very well.
I picked DS1 up from uni on the way home, he has bought me some lovely flowers, sunflowers and roses. He fell asleep within 20 minutes of being home and still is.
Completed a £1 PA survey. But no other money making/saving today, yet. Still time.Without overpayments: 15 years, 1 monthsBecause of overpayments: 10 years, 10 months left until paid off5 -
