Poppycat1 said:I forgot to mention a made a £10 overpayment to the mortgage a few days ago. Another £20 tonight. It now stands at £82,910.90. £700 of the 10% overpayment allowance for this year.
I managed to get a cauliflower, butternut squash and some naans in the week. I think a curry is in order this weekend.
Good stuff @Poppycat - cauliflower curry, you're making me hungry. I like butternut roasted then mashed with soft garlic cheese and chilli flakes so that haul would kepp me going most of the week (if I dodn't have to share)

Oh my! I spent some money. We had run out of soya milk so went to L!dl's for it. We wanted the milk, tortillas for part of our dinner (chilli) and orange juice. As well as that I bought biscuits, noodles and an outside broom. A whole £10.98. My boys have both like to play with my brooms. I think they must be part of the value Harry Porter world. I have told them that I am the only one allowed to touch it.
@Chiglepig that squash dish sound yummy, I will try it, it's quite a large one so can do several things with it.
Chilli was really nice, we got a Mexican dip selection so had that with it. Plenty left for about 4-5 more meals.
I have collected two Olio collections from Tesco and managed to get most of it collected. Just left with a loaf of bread and 4 large brown rolls. Received some toiletries today with the collection and have kept a couple of facial washes for us. Waiting to go and collect some Pret food and I will take most of it to work tomorrow, apparently it all went last week.
I had a blip with the anxiety but it now seems to be over. Spoke to a friend and she said it may of been the tax credits issue that started it. I don't know but just glad it only lasted a week.
I'm hoping to get my payslip at the end of next week and it should show my pay rise for being in the admin role for two years.
Have a good week everyone. x
Edit: I was tempted by some reduced flowers in L!dl but decided not to. I remembered that I had seen a Youtube video earlier and this lady picked some bluebells and brought them in. So I washed out a small candle glass that was finished with and went outside to gather some. I decided the Bluebells were too lovely to cut so have collected a tiny bunch of forgetmeknots. I have lots of them in the garden and they really look lovely. The bluebells and whitebells (I assume that's what they are called) can stay where they are.Without overpayments: 15 years, 1 monthsBecause of overpayments: 10 years, 10 months left until paid off4 -
Day off today. I spent it at home pottering about as usual. Three loads of washing done only to find three dirty odd socks after. It may take a couple of days to dry it all because we have had a couple of downpours today. I changed the vacuum cleaner bag so went over the floors. I managed to fix a lamp so have three in the lounge now. It's a really dark room. The only window is very large but has a sun room attached to it and it's north-west facing.
I finally sent the email off to claim a refund for when the water company fitted the water meter badly. It's taken around three years to sort. My monthly DD went from £30 to ££58 soon after I moved in. It is now back down to £30. I have put in a claim the the excess water, work the plumber had to do to install a stop !!!!!! so the leak could be found, and the insurance access to fix the pipe work next the meter.
I collected three tea lighter holders shaped like owls tonight and 5 pastries via Olio. The pastries will go in the freezer, well four will, I have eaten an almond croissant. The owls now have candles burning in them. It is feeling very cosy in the lounge now.
No overpayments as it's that boring time waiting for the payslip and eventually the wages to be paid. But enjoying my simple frugal life.
Three days at work then 9 days off. Well it should be but I agreed on a 7.5 hours overtime for next Tuesday. Should get about £50 from it and it's paid weekly so will get it the week after.Without overpayments: 15 years, 1 monthsBecause of overpayments: 10 years, 10 months left until paid off2 -

@Baileys_Babe of course. I had to make sure that they are worth the freezer space
They definitely were.
I have been busy working and now officially have time off until next Monday. Although working 7 hours overtime tomorrow.
Not much done really apart from getting on with things. A few surveys done, lots of collections and giveaways using Olio. Preparing food for the freezer from my collections. I spent 45p on some sweets for DS2 and £26.01 on diesel in the last few days.
I went to see my parents and sister's family yesterday for Christmas dinner. I haven't seen them in a while, they live about 75 minutes drive away. We had a roast and a lovely Christmas pud. Mum made me this great vegan Victoria sponge cake. I used to make a lot of cakes but since going vegan I haven't managed to find a basic recipe that turns out well. I came home with the rest of the cake and the recipe. They also gave me a king size quilt and duvet set, she said it was too warm for her. She also gave DS2 a set of draws to go in his wardrobe to keep his underwear etc in. That will leave space for his hoodies in his main draws. I took them lots of bits and pieces, flowers that I got via Olio, onions, bread, two cucumber seedlings, Orchid, book rhubarb and some lemons.
I have been a vegan for about five years but when I started collecting from Olio I started eating a bit of diary and eggs. This is because I hate food waste. So I am a vegetarian now. But I don't buy myself anything non vegan it's just items that are given to me that I will eat.
Pay slip has arrived and I received about £60 more than expected. I have £700 left of my 10% overpayment allowance this year. I think I'll only have enough to pay £600 off tomorrow. The aim is then earn as much as I can in cashback, surveys etc to find the extra £100. I have enough to pay it all off but I left myself a little short this month and it made me feel deprived.
I'll probably be back later.Without overpayments: 15 years, 1 monthsBecause of overpayments: 10 years, 10 months left until paid off3 -
I'm back and have changed my mind about the mortgage overpayment. I'm going to pay off the full £700 tomorrow morning. It will leave me with no spare money but I should receive a large rebate from water company this week and my DS2 owes me £70 which we will sort when we go to his bank in half term.
I got a few bits done around the house today, not much, mainly washing up and laundry. Ate mostly Olio items. Received a free Cadbury chocolate bar in the post and a voucher for another one. I can't remember how/when I asked for it. I received my Echo vouchers via email today. I thought I already had them but apparently I didn't. I think I will spend them this week. I have £5 Tesco, £5 Morrisons, £10 Asda and £15 Waitrose. I don't really need much apart from ketchup and baked beans. It will mainly be store cupboard items and vegan cheese. I forgot to say Mum gave me a selection box of vegan cheeses yesterday she had bought at Christmas time and had to freeze because I couldn't go. It included a blue cheese which I know I don't like but I will make a blue cheese sauce and have it over some veggies and pasta sometime. £3.20 earned on PA, with £2.50 of that already cleared.
Shopmium are doing a special offer where if you claim two cashbacks they give you £2 so will try and do that this week. as I will be visiting several supermarkets.
Excited to be paying the last of this years 10% tomorrow. I probably wont sleep, lol.Without overpayments: 15 years, 1 monthsBecause of overpayments: 10 years, 10 months left until paid off4 -
