Halloween: What are you giving Trick or Treaters?

Ive come to the conclusion that you're not being deliberately obtuse.
My point is that you are telling me that I must take action to stop these kids knocking on my door.
 I don't agree.
 No action should be necessary.
Nobody should knock on anyone else's door for thus over-hyped nonsense unless they know they will be welcomed.
Ok, but this I do disagree with. Our society disagrees as well. Hence cold callers, carol singers, religious recruiters, neighbour's delivery drivers, and a whole host of other people are legally allowed to approach your door.
In fact this very website has had to put together a legal notice for people to stop cold callers - because positive action is needed to prevent it from happening.
So you will need to take positive action to get this changed, which I understand isn't something you want to do. You either need to change the law, or put a sign on your door.0

I'm really not a fan of the attitude 'I don't like it, and it isn't my job to stop it happening'.
Even if you are 100% right in your convictions, why is inaction ever the solution? Why is it always for someone else to do?0

I'm not sure if you're being deliberately obtuse or you really don't get it.
I'm not demanding that people don't enjoy themselves.
Just that I don't want them on my property.
How hard is that to comprehend?
The bit where you don't want them on your property, but refuse to take *any* steps to indicate that you don't want them on your property.0

Last month I unpacked a box that has been in storage for abut 4 years. in it was a small box of celebrations.
I thought choc didn't really go off, as I've eaten chocs way beyond their 'best by' date before which was fine but they tasted bad. so I will be giving those out to any nuisance trick or treaters.
Wasn't there a case recently in Australia where someone was planting needles in strawberries? Hmmm its giving me ideas.
So your plan is to give out potentially dangerous* food to children? Because that's the behavior of a reasonable adult.
*If they taste bad it means they've spoiled in some way and *could* have harmful bacteria and/or toxins in them.0

Is the house next door for sale? :rotfl:
 Sorry?
No.....and it's not next door, but some distance away although technically it's the 'neighbouring' property.
No issues with trick or treaters here, but then I concede we've never lived anywhere where there's been loads, just a handful in our previous location (a village)......Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

This thread sums up what this commercial exploitation has done with people. Spend your money on tack and go around demanding others oblige your intolerance.0

Don’t forget the emporiums will be full tomorrow of more tack and waste items for over indulgence at xmas tomorrow!0

For me, its an endless amount of no-effort teenagers whom sole purpose is to ask/get cash.
Therefore, we close up shop. Lights out, door locked...no-one home scenario..0
