Same here midge but I'm not sure if I trust myself to have the extra one. It feels like 6 syns.Matron_Midge wrote: »I also saw that Heinz cream of tomato soup has dropped massively from 10 syns a can to 4
Thanks for that. I was thinking earlier that if we posted any changes in syn values that we notice in the new books it will be really helpful especially to those who 'go it alone' like Denise posted about the almond milk yesterday. I know that I seem to know most of the syns that I use in my regular menus off by heart so could easily make mistakes if I don't keep checking. I anticipate that we'll soon hear about the bad stuff.:(
We're having an excessively fishy day today. I took salmon out of the freezer for dinner and prawns for my lunch then DH decided to do kippers for breakfast! We're out all day tomorrow otherwise I might have shuffled things round a bit. I could manage today's menu without going shopping but I'm reluctant to put it off until Monday as that's NYE and could be manic. I'll have to brave the shops this afternoon and hope the shelves are full.:(
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, kippers
L: prawn saladbaked salmon, SW chips, stir fry veg (cabbage, carrots, mushrooms, courgettes)
Syns: not counting until next Wednesday.;)0 -
Hi, please could I join? I've been doing slimming world succesfully since March this year and have lost 2 1/2 stone although I still have a long way to go to reach my target. I have fallen off the wagon a bit over Christmas but am hoping to sort it out with some motivation from this thread!0

Welcome Katie.:) Are you still going to group? You've done well to lose 2.5 stone in 9 months. :T
Happy New Year to you too tie. I think the shortbread would be great for the food bank. I took some 'unwanted' crisps along today and there seemed to be lots of chocolates and biscuits in the collection boxes.
Thanks for posting those changes denise. I rarely stray from my usual milk/cereal/bread for HEXs but it's good to be aware of other things. Would they be cooked blueberries? I've never heard of them cooked (other than in muffins;)) so I'd have expected anyone who liked them to just eat them raw and free. Shame about the canned/stewed prunes as I often have those with a hotel breakfast.
ETA: Just noticed that raw blueberries are Speed (not just free). I'm sure that's a change.
I did my meal plan and shop. Aldi was great, really quiet and shelves well stocked. I even bought a half price red cabbage and apples to make more for the freezer. Called into the little Co-op for my BoB milk (still 300ml for a HEA) and they had half price salmon fillets. The fish drawer in my freezer is groaning! :rotfl:0 -
Blueberries became Speed quite some time ago - think it was probably early last year when there were a few other changes.
Think the changes to SP might put off a lot of people especially now Syns have been reduced to 10 a day and peas and beans have lost their P symbol! I really don't understand those sorts of changes after they certainly haven't changed their make up!
I'm not keen on blueberries so rarely eat those and certainly don't eat blueberry muffins - far too many syns to be wasted!
My inside freezer is now almost empty but my outside one one is virtually full up so that means I won't waste anything from the freezer when I go on holiday in a few days time! There might be a couple of things in the fridge to give to my friend but not much as haven't bought much over the last couple of weeks! Cupboards are also almost empty so kitchen will be completely cleared come New Year ready for the builder to rip it out and install the new one. He's also replacing the ceiling in my dining room and moving my white goods into the extension to make a utility area away from the kitchen. Hopefully most of the work will have been done by the time we get back from holiday!

Thanks Denise . I'd missed that about the blueberries. As I said I only seem to take notice of the things I eat (and drink;)) regularly. I think blueberries are a bit tasteless. Personally I prefer veg to fruit.0
