Lots of love to you Mothernerd - hope that things have gotten better as the day has gone on. I find you so inspirational, and I wish that there was something I could say or do to make you feel a bit better. Sounds as though you have it in hand though - small steps.
I have done absolutely nothing at all today. I had a pretty poor sleep last night, and gave up and got up about 5am. I have since dozed over on the sofa for a few minutes at a time but I'm tired. Have dread about going into work tomorrow, and still feeling quite anxious about lots of things. Nothing I can do about it though except accept it and keep going.
DS and I are going out for a walk in a little while - we could both use the exercise and it's a nice day outside. Other than that, I just need to get on top of the housework and getting stuff ready for the week ahead. Trying to keep the faith. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

I'm okay, just need to take better care of myself and give my body time to recover. Checked the diary and I'm not away with mum until the weekend after next which helps.
Done shopping, will work out spending later. £14 on light bulbs (stocked up on kitchen ones as well), got bread and milk for mum for tomorrow, bought sweets but chose something different (sherbet fountain), have a book, a video and a mug (all from the bhf shop) so reasonable prices (+ a £2 reindeer brooch), more wraps and sandwich fillings, grapes, 2 tins of fruit and some tinned soup (all with pull off tops). Was resting on benches in between shops so compromised on some of the things I 'needed' (short on salad stuff but lots of veg in the freezer).
So plan is:-
Wear best dress and perfume
Smother myself in E45 or suncream
Keep up basic hygiene, build on it if possible (may need haircut)
Break down kitchen into small steps jobs
Use rags to do quick swipe every time I go in the bathroom or kitchen
Put together a self care box (borrow DS3's rabbit to hug)
Eat simple food + veg (eg bacon with sprouts, rm curry with a base of veg
New library books
Pick up or put away 3 things before leaving each room
list of things that help - candles, music, do the happy dance
Do some cutting back/ weeding in the yard and the backs (bin to be emptied this week)
Just keep plodding and have some fun.
Today I am grateful for being back in my little house (the big house had 3 light fittings that each had different specialist light bulbs), for having been through much worse things in the past (always good to remember you have survived worse) and for all the benches I stopped to sit on and all the things I could see.
Forgot to say I bought a new toilet brush (strange , the things thatmake me happy)My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
NSDs -3/15
ORGANISE your time. had a leisurely day today as most of my chores done yesterday. Time used for a lovely family walk instead.
VALUES Differentiate between needs and wants –wanted to have lunch out today as it was so nice we didn’t want to come home but came home anyway and had lunch here
ENJOY yourself. Fab walk in the beautiful sunshine today. Really lifted the spirits and great exercise for us all,
MAKE an inventory of the food in your cupboards, fridge and freezer at the start of the month. Plan your meals around what you have, make your shopping list up from the ingredients you need to go with them. - Not done a full inventory yet but will do.
BUDGETS should be set before the start of the month - Food, travel, socialising, personal. I have written down everything I spent today so I have started tracking.
EXERCISE 4 times a week, 20 minutes a day. done again today with our walk
RULES The more rules you can follow, the more you will save/ have for debt reduction. – fingers crossed
IN case of emergency Add any items you might need (torch, shovel for snow, old carpet for traction, extra coat or blanket) to your car boot. DH didn’t get round to this yesterday but will do it he assures me !
Stock up with generic painkillers, cold and flu meds - just as effective as the expensive ones (MSE tested). to do
NOW is always the right time to start. didn’t even have one drink last night as just not in the mood anyway
NO takeaways, coffee shops, vending machines, canteens unless for a special event. We took a flask of hot chocolate, marshmallows and a snack to have on our walk. Youngest DS loved our autumn picnic:rotfl:
EVERYONE should know their debt free date. Not got a debt free date apart from Mortgage so will go for my savings date instead which will be 2021/2.
WINTER proof your home, if you haven't already done so. New thermally lined curtains have arrived. Ordered in October [FONT="][/FONT] Just need to get poles so I know how much they have to be taken up by.
YOU should cook from scratch when you can. Roast chicken, roast potatoes and veg for tonight’s dinner all prepared by DH as he does a mean roast.
OUTSIDE It may be cold but wrap up warm and make the most of the available light. aforementioned walk. Tomorrow night we have a bonfire night with DS2s beavers so we will be out in the fresh air again as a bit of a walk to the place.
REPORT regularly (daily is best) here
KINDNESS costs nothing. Smiled and spoke to a lot of people on our walk, frequently find very friendly people when out walking.0 -

We are both still feeling a bit rubbish. Actually, Himself is feeling a lot rubbish. So stayed in again today. The boy is coming for dinner so I'm hoping that we might be tempted by a bit of roast chicken and vegetables even if we don't manage the roast potatoes and stuffing.
I've been listing things to be done and I'm determined to make a start on them tomorrow no matter what. Even a little would be good.
Fingers crossed.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
mothernerd - I recently stocked up on light bulbs, not a cheap thing to do nowadays.
lauren - about time you got something from the childcare people, I remember all your problems well.
This weekend has been very spendy. When I started my current temping job the plan was to use my wages on thigs we needed for the house. Today we have ordered a new double mattress for me and DH and a single for DD along with the protectors and a pillow (the last 3 items came free), also bought 2 new kitchen knives, a salt and pepper mill, a tweed draught excluder and a massive rug for our living room. We were going to replace the carpet but have decided that even though the rug was expensive it was way cheaper and simpler than a new carpet.
Also had a takeaway last night (not for me though) for the end of half term, bought an Adidas running top in the CS along with a pretty jumper and some boots for DD.
Made 3 individual vegan shepherds pies this morning, 2 for me and DH for tea today and one for my work lunch tomorrow, also made a huge pan of my spicy thai carott and sweet potato soup for Tuesdays tea. The shepherds pies make me happy because I make them in my Mason Cash oval dishes that I got 5 of for £2 - yes you guessed it from the CS. For any of you that don't know I am having a year of buying everything possible secondhand - obviously mattresses do not fall into this camp.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Happy Sunday all.
Usual Sunday lie-in today - breakfast in bed while me and bf catch up on our youtude series (there isn't a lot of stuff we like to watch together)
Then he took pup out while I cleaned upstairs, beds changed, vacuumed etc.
NSDs - 4/20.
ORGANISE your time. - Lots of much needed cleaning done today. Then lots of scheduled down time.
VALUES Pay off mum.- Mums fund £450 / £1200. I almost spent today. I want at topbox for my scooter, it's about £70 for the rack, then another £85 for the box itself. I don't need one, but I want one so I can head off somewhere nice for a run and store my leathers and boots. Mum needs paying off first thou. And I guess it will be better waiting for the spring weather for runs.
ENJOY yourself. I had forgotten how much I enjoy cleaning.
M[STRIKE]AKE an inventory of your food.[/STRIKE] Done
B[STRIKE]UDGETS[/STRIKE] on track.
EXERCISE 4 times a week. Rest day today. Back at the gym tomorrow.
RULES have been followed!
I[STRIKE]N case of emergency [/STRIKE]
NOW is always the right time to start. Hm burgers for tea. Sweet pot wedges for bf, just veg for me.
NO takeaways etc. None injested.
EXTRA income. Nothing today
WINTER proof your home. Demolded and mold proofed upstairs. I don't know what the prevous owners did to the doors, but it looks like they trapped some mold under a coat of varnish. As soon as the temp drops, the all get nasty.
YOU should cook from scratch. Hm burgers for tea. Will cook up tomorrows lunch at the same time.
OUTSIDE Quick jaunt out for some sandwich thins (bfs week for shopping) and a spin on the scooter to a bike shop to enquire about topboxes.
