  • Morning all,

    Morning all.

I'm in, sort of. Busy this week preparing a study group session for tomorrow, getting paperwork ready for the EGM on Saturday morning at which we shall close down the charity, creating a WW1 display for church which ought to go up on Saturday afternoon, and planning a talk for the Old Wives next Monday. Also going to see DS2 and family on Thursday and taking DGS3+4 out for the day.

I am planning to re-glaze the broken window today and am hoping that DS1 will come round on Wednesday or Friday to do some other outstanding jobs which I can't manage myself, after which I shall have to re-paint the ensuite door.

    :eek::eek::eek:

I must also get on and finish the knitted nativity set that a friend started making for the toddlers last year - we need it by the end of the month!

Otherwise everyday flying will continue as usual. Fortunately the house is kept fairly tidy: only the DR table, my study and our BR need much attention, and that is all superficial. The study comes first...

Hope those whose half term has finished have enjoyed it, those who are just starting the week's "holiday" will enjoy it, and those who don't get a break of any sort will have sunshine to raise their energy levels so that they cope better with the dark evenings. Stay safe everyone, with all the fireworks going off this week.

(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed xx

Thanks for the threads Natty and Valli.

    (((Hugs))) YL.

Very busy week this week, but I'll get as much done as I can from the lists because otherwise the place will be a midden and I can't go back to living like that.
    Better is good enough.

    Work done

OH is working away, he has just turned up at his hotel, to find 'all out' and the fire brigade is there 'kitting up' and going in.........one chappie is wandering around in swimming trunks and a foil blanket, so OH has gone over to offer him a coat, as he has a spare in his car, and to see if he wants to sit in his car, till the all clear is given.
It is possibly a gas leak, no fire.

  • One day at work and now have a day off to make up for the additional hours I did over the 'holiday'.

Himself was a little tetchy when I got in, as it had apparently taken him an hour and a half to get the boiler working and he was cold. Apparently, my answer of 'Oh dear, was the condensing pipe frozen?' wasn't appreciated, as he didn't know there was such a thing. Giving him a list of things to cook for the next 4 days is too much information, as well - even though he's always wanting me to do that. However, he's decided to make bread & butter pudding to cheer himself up, so is looking a bit perkier now (and I'm resolutely pretending that I'm quite busy online).

I've decided not to mention that I don't like bread & butter pudding in the slightest - it's bread pudding that I like - as he's already started making it. whistle:

I love bread and butter pudding...

Very busy and productive day. Washing line dried. Last lot of washing ironed, aired and put away.
Kitchen cleaned inc extras - WM filter cleaned. Fridge cleaned. Cupboard below oven emptied and wiped out.

Bottom shelf of cupboard above the oven also cleaned but I can't reach top shelf to clean that. Bathroom cleaned. Bathroom radiator (tall towel rail) bled. DS pressed into service for boiler recharging.
Bedroom tidying/cleaning ongoing. DD's games located in a cupboard in her room (as we took her wardrobe, which they lived on, to her new flat, where it's staying...even if she doesn't). been to hospice to drop off her badge and tabard; =@ldi for shopping and work for laptop cable. Which I left on Friday. Trousers hemmed.

  • Long day in work, as Mondays usually are. Tills have come up £10 short which has frustrated me. Hoping re-counting tomorrow before banking will unearth it, but I'm not overly hopeful.

Had a Circuits session in the gym, then ordered bf to start tea while I walked home.
Managed a little cleaning in the kitchen, not a lot, but it's a start.

Sorry, forgot to say Raphael - welcome back.

Up early (for me) which seems to be a sign of growing up and accepting I need to go to bed earlier to get more hours in the day when I can do stuff. I preferred childhood.

Kelpie walked and medicated, letters posted, kitchen tidied, one load through the WM, OH organised to do a couple of things I can't get done on my own, urgent comments posted to people I need to talk to on social media, so now I can get on with the things I need to do for Sunday. I'm running out of time.
    Better is good enough.

Up dressed, breakfasted. Fireplace man has been and inspected with OH so all is set to go ahead to replace old broken wood burning stove with pellet stove. I hope it will be done at the end of November as winter has arrived here. Bitterly cold and raining today.

Loads of ironing to do and even more washing, so I guess the WM and TD will be running all day. DD2 came home with 3 weeks washing and DD1 had been home last week with hers, she did her own clothes but just left mum the sheets, towels and filthy clothes that had been used for the integration camping weekend. OH also back after a week away so plenty.

Long bank holiday weekend for us coming up so will be going to other house for 4 days by the sea, yipee!!

We're all going out for dinner with DD1 this evening so looking forward to that.

Have a nice day, I'm off to get another coffee and go and do some ironing.
