Strangely quite alot of sexism in this thread. Just an observation. Efficient driving is key. Stopping when unnecessary is inefficient, as is excess speed.

    Where's all this sexism?

there's room on the road for the parked cars to the left, me, and one lane of oncoming traffic, and that's a tight squeeze.
Sounds like it's quite an awkward junction - parked cars across the T and a bend close by. Do you have a link so we can look at it, please?

    Here's one near me - . https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.4457372,0.0075005,3a,75y,180h,90t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1shFpdSJYAsp9Kz15vfXn-xw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192
Imagine you are the silver Peugeot turning right out of a side road onto the South Circular. The big tree limits your view to the right so you have to nose into the traffic to see. Waiting for a gap both sides can be minutes - so you often have to hope for someone to let you in - or drive into the first gap in traffic approaching from the right and wait for a gap in the other side. A nervous driver who doesn't want to do that may well see an impatient one go around them on the left and force their way in to the flow.
I need to think of something new here...

I haven't re-read the thread, but I think there was maybe one (possibly two) posts that could perhaps be deemed sexist. Certainly not "quite alot (sic) of sexism in this thread". :)

No points / no accidents proves very little really apart from luck.

    Now there's a classic statement!
  • There is a happy place to be found in making good, sensible progress at all times. Not driving like an ageing vicar or street racing ned, just drive to a combination of the conditions and the limit.
Merging into a queue on a dual-carriageway is my least stressful piece of driving, it's so easy - come to the bottom of the slip match speeds with the main road and then stay in the slip usually until 2/3 rd of the way along it letting a gap open naturally for me, zip merge is the key (nobody stops). Equally if I'm on the main carriageway open a one vehicle gap for the vehicle on the slip.
People who either merge right at the start (over the hatched area half the time) or right at the end having torn up the slip as fast as possible just cause delays for everyone.

    +1

Not seeing it either. Not enough to try to make it a "thing"

So where is it all then?

Or can you not justify your comment?
