I drive out early each morning to drop OH off for work. Our street joins a minor commuter route, so when I'm returning, I'm in the midst of traffic heading for the local dual carriageway, and the major commuter routes.

I need to turn right into our street to go home. There's parked traffic on the left, opposite the entrance into our street, room for me to get alongside them, then the opposing lane of traffic. The road bends left at the point where the parked cars are, so I need to slow to walking pace to see if the road is clear ahead, and also to see if there's any traffic coming out of our street, as a high wall to the right makes it a blind corner.

I indicate well in advance, slow down to draw parallel to the parked cars, and typically there's someone behind me who can't get past.

I get flashed with main beams.
    I get tooted at.
    Sometimes.

This morning, I signalled well in advance, and the main beam went on behind me. I slowed to walking pace, checked the way was clear, and the horn sounded behind. I turned into to my street, and clearly heard from the car behind, even though I had my windows closed, and the radio on ......

"Get out of the f*cking way!!!"

What is WRONG with these people?

As soon as the flashing lights and hooting the horn started i would have been out of my car and asked them what was their problem,to many impatiant drivers on the roads these days.:(

And possibly end up with a bloody nose, knife hanging out of you etc..
That approach is as bad as the plonker flashing lights etc..
Just ignore them, they hate that!
Yes, the last part is 100% correct.

If I worked normal hours it'd take me 45 minutes to make a 15 minute journey due to the sheer number of cars on the road. Doesn't surprise me at all that being in that situation daily would be annoying and irritating.

Are you sure your brake lights and indicators are working?

I remember many years ago being in car with my uncle and after turning into a car park, the car following was blowing its horn. My uncle shouted something along the lines of 'what's up, don't my f'ing indicators work?'
After we got out the car we checked and they were not working. Slightly embarrassing.

I have this morning driven 12 miles to the Seaside and 12 miles back a nice pleasant drive there sticking to the limits, of either 30, 40, 50 or 60.

On returning along the same road most of the journey I had a red Corsa driven by a young girl late teens early 20's who decided that she wanted to drive between 5 to 10 feet behind me all of the way. She had one opportunity to overtake me as traffic was very heavy coming the other way. She did not take that opportunity to pass me and she was becoming more and more angry during the journey and was flashing me every 20 to 30 seconds. I know as I could see her in my rear view mirror. In the past I would be giving her the bird and making other gestures with my hands but now I just remain calm and let people get on with it.

I have just downloaded the footage of the journey in 3 minute slots from my rear dashcam to forward to the police as I believe it is dangerous driving.

I hope that they do something because others would not put up with the behaviour.

Possibly the wrong bulb fitted to her brake lights. I accidentally fitted the wrong brake light bulb once, and every time I braked, my headlights came on. Was it full beam? or just dipped headlights?

Bet he wishes he'd been more patient with the poor cyclist now, still jail will give him plenty of time to reflect - maybe he'll emerge with a zen like calm while driving in future.

I would have sped up a little bit then hit the brakes as hard as i could,i know this is not really a safe thing to do but would love to see her face when she hit the back of my car and i called the police and reminded her her insurance would go thru the roof.

Maybe they don't like the look of you/your car.... I'm a little older and drive a 13 year old car.... I get let through, let out, waved ahead, a lot of the time. I do it for others too, I read the road ahead and make many choices to let somebody out/through....

Maybe I am more "likeable" when judged on first impressions/assumptions by other drivers.

I would say though ... if I want to pull out of a junction I open the front windows so they can see who is inside clearly ... that tends to shorten the time I'm waiting to get waved out of a junction. The difference is 3-4 cars' wait -v- 20 cars' wait.

Reminds me of my cousin's husband: "Now then flower, how about I sit here and press that horn for you while you go and start my car". :D
