Is this a big deal? £2,000 will get you a clapped out Fiesta?
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

How could they enforce this judgement against this lady ?
it carreis the same weight as a county court judgement, so applying for the court to enforce it woudl be trivial.

No, but only one competitor needs to pay a few quid to get dozens of reviews via Fiverr or similar site. It's a very easy, if somewhat immoral, way to gain credibility by slating your competitors. Add a splash of social media mob mentality into the mix and it self-perpetuates - White Moose Cafe in Dublin is a great example of this. It's been a well documented issue for years, and I'm genuinely surprised that so many people still take them at face value - https://www.theguardian.com/money/2013/jan/26/fake-reviews-plague-consumer-websites

Same goes for MyBuilder and Trusted Traders - online reviews are no guarantee of quality, or any proof that they are a providing a shoddy service. I even took part in this programme earlier this year to highlight how flawed the review system is - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-42783279

This has cost Hurley & Co a lot more time, effort and money than it appears to have cost PPA & Ms Sole, and appears to have rattled Hurley somewhat, whilst disrupting his attention to the business in hand.

I know you aren't joking (because you and I both know stuff) but I prefer to judge people by their posts and yours are normally informed & measured.

Maybe it's time to take off any rose coloured specs and see who actually slapped who in this case. IMHO there is no different slant on the facts in the public domain and it is right that posters read such information.
I think I too would quite happily give a kick in the nuts to somebody as vile, if it meant I had to buy a new pair of shoes afterwards.
    Agreed, in general terms.

SW - what's all this about? You surely can't mean you believe the reviews are all fake. Do you?

Two grand is undoubtedly a big deal for some. Much more than a new pair of shoes.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • A trifling case where you are struggling to find the good guy in the fight.

Now if all other websites snaffled by this pair were contested similarly maybe just maybe they may shuffle back to their amoebae pond and wait for the next line of evolution
