NatWest Extends 0% APR deal to 9 months

in Credit cards
For both BT and purchases.
Just noticed an ad in the branch. All NatWest cards now come with 9 months 0% APR for BTs. There is no balance transfer fee, which makes it one of the best cards for stoozing.

It is also very easy to get – was my first card years ago, when Barclaycard and Capital One refused to give me anything.
Updated with the link Anon mentioned to the same offer from RBS, Hurray

It's also a handy card to add to your stooze collection because you can do cash transfers to any UK bank account... So the best thing to do would be to use the NW card for 9 months for an existing balance thats running out of 0% time and then once this is up - don't cancel the card - use it for transfering cash from other cards to your savings account. The key to doing this properly is to BT to the NW card before you transfer the cash out - so you don't pay any interest etc.

Phoned NatWest - best they can do for existing customers is 5.9% APR for life of BT without a fee
.
Will hope that 9 months offer will be introduced to other RBS cards. After Ulster and NatWest why not? Next logical choice – Airmiles?
With relatively easy 25k+ limits RBS tends to give looks like stoozing far from over.
P.S. Thanks for your “thanks”.0 -

Money transfers by phone
Transfer money from your credit card to any UK bank account over the phone. The minimum is £250, and you don’t pay a fee – just your usual rate for purchases from the date of the transfer.
=============================
As the "usual" rate for purchases during the introductory period is 0%, this would imply that you can re-cycle your 2.25% minimum payments back to your current account every month during the introductory period (assuming they are more than £250 [eg >£11.2K limit])?
Also, the initial BT amount will hit the stooze pot some 7-8 days earlier than normal as won't have to go through the Egg mule card (saves 2 transfers).
Or am I missing something?0 -
YorkshireBoy, I interpreted it the same way.
Also I think cpjackso was implying that for after the intro period, the card could be used for SBTs without incurring fees or interest if it is put in credit first. Please correct me if I'm wrong, cpjackso0 -
Interesting, however there is some confusion in their summary boxes, all of which are saying5.8% p.a. for balances transferred in first month from account opening until the balance is repaid in full0

Ah - my browser was caching. When I pressed refresh it leapt to 9 months for both purchases and BTs.
Sounds good. I'll be applying for this next month.0 -
Existing customer - does anyone know if you could apply for one of their other cards as I note the comment above about only the 5.9% bt life available (coincidence that this is the same as the information that has not been updated?) - I have the Natwest normal account but could apply for Gold or Platinum to take advantage of this offer?
Would applying by telephone mean that you don't get another credit search as I already have their cards (for over 10 years!) with a reasonable credit limit?

PS - RBS are offering the same deal:
http://www.rbs.co.uk/Personal_Finances/Credit_Cards/default.htm - I notice that Mutualpoints offer 750 points for signing up through their site.0 -
This is the best news I've heard in ages0

I remember reading somewhere that if you convert from Visa to Master or vice versa, you are eligible for introductory rates again. Might be worth phoning to confirm.0
