no,not at all, you've had months on end to deal with this, the sooner you are evicted the better.

I pity the next LL and the next and so on.
    It's nothing , not nothink.

I don't think you can be charged with blackmail for reporting a criminal offence. - You can if you are threatening to do so unless the individual does something in return.

Residential squatting is illegal, but as you say, it would be the squatters problem, not the OP's. - The OP would simply add to their already enormous debt

The HCEOs may call the police, to avoid a breach of the peace. But chances are the police will be busy and it will cause a delay because the HCEOs will want to return with plenty of support. - Can guarantee that's not the case. Police turn up, anyone in the property is arrested. The police love nothing more than arresting anarchists.

It's all desperate stuff, but OP has little to lose. He's massively in debt to the landlord and bankrupt already.

I would say his dignity, but given some of the other posts that has gone too
It's pointless speculating about who the landlord is.
If the property is in London, it could be required for a fireman, policeman, teacher etc who works nearby. - Not at £4k a month In that case, then no - it should not be occupied by an unwell person who would be better off somewhere else (as we have hospitals etc everywhere).

Obviously, this is the reason the government appoint judges to hear these kind of cases, rather than juries. - the reason is that this is a matter of law, not innocence or guilt. Juries do not decide the punishment. That avoids the general public having too much say in the matter. - The public have a say every 5 years... Because the public will consider the wider picture, whereas judges only care about what the rulebook says. - I agree the public are generally quite stupid

But you won't find the mainstream media mentioning this...

No you wont, because it's nonsense
I'm not sure it would make any difference which political party ran the council. - It might

    But ask yourself this:
If councils are all so short of money, why don't they just buy some cheap land that doesn't have planning permission on it. Then grant the planning permission themselves and then either build the houses themselves, or sell on to private developers??
Either way, it's an easy way for them to make money at the stroke of a pen. - Councils wont build houses for a number of reasons; primarily it's because it's a false economy. The houses would be taken up by benefit claimants and the council would be out of pocket. As for selling land on; council do this all the time; via compulsory purchase orders.

The only explanation for not doing this, is a deliberate government policy to restrict house building and keep house prices high. - Having high house prices (it's not a policy) is good for the economy, locally and nationally. If local house prices are low, then investment by businesses is also low.

But you won't see the mainstream media mention this....

    Again, because it's nonsense

Really what I am looking for is more specific legal advice on my options at the moment.

I know I can file a N161 form for an appeal to request a re-trial given that I was not given a chance to defend my counterclaim at court. The court of appeal can consider this and I suppose that while this is done no enforcement can take place. That would be one way to go.

You were given a chance and didn’t turn up.
By your own admittance your second request for a delay wasn’t good enough.

You are 9 months in arrears and you are calling your landlord ruthless?
I would say the only person being ruthless is you. How can you not pay a single penny in 9 months, even if it is just a gesture of £50 a month or £50 every other month.

I sympathise with you, but your landlord no doubt has a mortgage to pay and a family to feed. Call him ruthless if you like but in his shoes, I am not sure I would have let it drag out for 9 months nor be able to afford to let it drag out that long.

I cant help you as I do not know the answer, but why not give the bloke a break and find somewhere you can afford/get help towards?

You have a CCJ for £40,000+.... might want to keep opinions to yourself

    I thought he was bankrupt?
Wouldn't bankruptcy cancel the CCJ (and all other debts)?

And to think that my comment about the "mainstream media" was considered far fetched..!

To be honest I ignore most of your posts; they're factually inaccurate most of the time.

I highlighted a few in this thread which were particularly extreme.

If you bother to research any topics you should look at some of the extreme cases of illegal eviction; as well as violent crime in general.

As for finding someone to do the deed; there's always desperate individuals.

It has happened on the TV programs you watch. Not so much in real life.

Considering I hardly watch television, I wouldn't know.

Not everyone lives the same monotonous existence you find yourself in.

I didn't claim it was common. It has happened and it does happen.
    I thought he was bankrupt?

I've not seen anyone actually confirm he's bankrupt. Not sure how that changes the meaning behind my post. But if you prefer:

"You had a £40,000+ CCJ issued against you, as a result you're bankrupt. You might want to keep your opinions to yourself."

    No, you wouldn't.

The number of times I've heard this nonsense about "just pay some thugs" etc. (As if such thugs are just hanging around waiting for normal people to approach them). Always spouted by someone who has no real idea about how business works.

I think you might be the deluded one who doesn't actually realise the amount of 'normal' people who if they wanted to could arrange this. I never would need to but I am fairly confident that I would know someone who knows someone who knows someone who could/would do such a thing (especially if 2K were on the table)

Alot of people probably do, the reason that these things are rare is not due to the fact people would have trouble arranging it but luckily must of the the people in this country are decent and law abiding and would never dream of organising such a thing.

Obviously there is crime, lots of it.
But the idea of a normal person "hiring thugs" is a fantasy, probably based on some kind of soap opera.

If I go into town now, there will be people on Spice etc.
But the idea of me going up and buying some Spice, or in any way getting involved with them is just ridiculous.

That's not the way things work. Criminals and junkies etc exist in their own social groups.
