Hello everybody! I’ve been using this site for a few months, but this is my first time on the forums. I hope it is the beginning of a beautiful relationship
:j
I have started a new thread because I could not find an existing one that related to my query; please forgive me if this has been covered somewhere else.
Spurred on by Martin’s tips on how to boost your income, I decided to register on the internet survey sites recommended in this site. Two weeks ago I registered with Valued Opinions (I thought I’d give it a try first, and then join the others once I had seen how the system worked). When joining, I completed each of the questionnaires appearing on the Valued Opinions website. There are several questionnaires covering everything from age, family. medical conditions, interests, car ownership and more. The website tells you that they need to build up your profile, so that you are contacted only for surveys where your opinion is relevant. Fair enough.
For the last two weeks, I have been receiving lots of mails from Valued Opinions (on some days, even 2 or 3 separate mails) telling me a survey was available, and that I had to answer a few questions to see if I qualified for the survey itself. Some of those ‘pre-survey’ questions are exactly the same as those I have already answered when I joined to build my profile. Some were completely different, and quite in-depth. I have duly answered every ‘pre-survey’ questionnaire received (haven’t counted them, but a good estimate would be about 15), but at the end of each mini-questionnaire I was told I did not qualify for the survey (hence I did not qualify for the reward). I have become suspicious.
They have already asked me to build a detailed profile when I joined, so why keep asking me questions (sometimes the very same questions in the very same format) to see if I qualify? Most suspiciously, many of what I’m calling the ‘pre-survey’ questions I have received were new, and some very specific. By answering those questions, I am in effect providing them with a service (data) that I am not rewarded for. It may just be a handful of questions per day, but they do add up.
To cut it short, I would like to ask other Moneysavers who have used this company what their experience and impressions are. Do you keep completing those mini-questionnaires in the hope that you will eventually qualify to answer a (paid for) survey? How many paid-for surveys have you completed? And how many free questionnaires have you completed before you could reach the Holy Grail of the paid-questionnaire? Do you think this company is kosher? Do you think it’s worth our money-saving time?
LOL sorry so many questions! Will try harder to keep it short next time!!!
Thank you in advance for any information or advice you can give me, and keep up the good work, this website is wonderful :T0 -
Others here have told me Valued Opinions is a good company - but so far I've had the same experience as you! The vast majority of surveys I start and then get told I don't qualify - often after I've completed quite a few questions. I've had two or three just freeze when quite close to the end so I couldn't complete them. I'm not impressed so far, but as I say, everyone else here says they are good.
I've been registered about 6 weeks and I think I've managed to complete one entire survey!0 -
I joined Valued Opinions a while back and at first managed to complete a fair e few surveys and get rewrads albeit a few pence, however i have now given up as i too do not qualify for nearly all or the survey is full although i completing them soon after recieving!!0

I've been with VO for quite some time now and have had numerous £10 vouchers from them. I usually get 4 or 5 invites a week and can probably complete 2 or 3 of them.
Maybe I'm just lucky!!!!!!!Win £2009 in 2009 - £300 (Absolute Radio, Pay Your Bills)

Wow thank you all for those quick replies, you ROCK! Nice to know I'm not alone in this...0

Chunkywannabun you do sound lucky indeed!
Sorry, I forgot to add one thing: on one occasion I was redirected by V.O. to a page that asked me I was willing to leave my e-mail to be contacted for some 'community recruitment'. I was suspicious because V.O. have my mail already (that's how they contact me in the first place), so who are they going to give this mail to? And what on earth is community recruitment? Needless to say, I skipped that page. I wonder now if this has 'cost' me the chance to get a hefty £1 tesco voucher, or if I've just had a lucky escape...

I have found the same thing as the OP
I get about 2 emails a day from them and so far am told I do not qualify after completing a few questions. Once yesterday I was told they had enough respondents to their survey even though I responded to the email they sent straight away!!0 -

I normally get about 4-5 a week but for some reason they've suddenly stopped sending me any surveys.
I haven't had a single survey from them in about 2 weeks i think
I hope they start sending them to me again...... i miss them lol.“Hope is the only bee that makes honey without flowers.”
Some people only dream of angels, i held one in my arms.
Praying this baby makes it.0
