Hi hazelnutty,
just popping into say hi. Well done on your FB sales, that's a great amount to have made :T
Cooked brekkie in the community cafe sounds delicious, a good use of your spends I thinkHope you have a nice half term, ours is next week - just in time for the weather to cold

Hi Karma, Hi Crumpets!
We have kittens now so no pet sitting unfortunately (or dogs at least!) We also have to be careful with what paid work she does as the benefits rules are quite odd and not always logical! I do like the idea of making things and selling them so we'll have a chat about that. She used to be quite into her crafting and is becoming a bit of a star baker (so my waistline says!) so I think there are options there.
We have a couple of community cafes in our town that I know of. The one I went to for brekkie is in the most deprived area so the community centre is a really important hub for all kinds of activities and groups. If I can support it by eating there then that's greatVisited the other one today after my dentist appointment and it was buzzing with half-term stuff. Lovely coffee too. I'd far rather put my cash there than a chain.
DD has last day at half term camp today then guitar lesson (my mum kindly covers the cost as it's a bit much for me) then our trip to the cinema (Goosebumps won!) I'll get some Wilko sweets before hand as no way paying the inflated prices in the cinema. Looking forward to evening out with her though. Even though she is now practicing her teenage 'tude at home at lot right now, she is really sweet when we're out together.
Some bills to pay today ugh but pay day tomorrow when I can do a proper plan for November. Will report in!
Have a good Thursday everyoneChoose kind0 -

How long has she been learning the guitar? I've bought my dd and ds guitars for Christmas. Maybe we'll become some kind of travelling family trubadour's :rotfl:
Enjoy Goosebumps dd1 and I loved the first oneMortgage March 2011 £143,927.6

Hi Crumpets! A few months now. We found a great teacher and she loves him. I go along and it's such a laugh, quite unlike my experiences of music lessons as a kid, which were formal and strict (and guess what, I didn't carry on with my music...)Choose kind0

Enjoy the film and more importantly the sweets (making me want to nip to the local shop for toffee).

I am partial to the sherbety types - methinks a few flying saucers tonight? Perhaps even a cheeky dib dab?Choose kind0

Morning MFWers!
Hazel reporting in. OPs in October: £105.70
Budgets:
Food: budget £320, actual £272.75 (£47.25)
Fuel: budget £125, actual £160.03 (-£35.03) Not too worried - sometimes a longer journey falls in one month and not another. Wil adjust for November.
Ents: budget £125, actual £119.35 (last-minute flurry at cinema last night!)
Plan for November:
OP (immediate transfer): £103.58 (tops up mortgage payment to £775) Plus TTs of course
Budgets:
Food £280 (Plus non-food e.g. toiletries, cleaning products: £30)
Fuel: £150
Ents: £125
Squirreled into virtual pots for various costs: £366.25
Saved into Charter Easy Acess: £150
Even managed to top up my personal guilt-free pot by £31.09 to £175 (it's never more than £200)
This is a very good month for me. Many months I have had to cut back on virtual pot savings (e.g. the holiday pot). Being able to save into the CS account is a biggie as that's where a replacement car would need to be funded from. BUT even with 2 good months, I'm OPing £100. That's hardly going to make a dent on the mortgage! £1200 a yearI know every little helps but we're talking a year, 18 months off the mortgage term, which is already running me into a late retirement. I'm not sure what I can realistically do about this. I don't have capacity for extra income generation personally and salaries in my area don't even keep pace with inflation. I should get a promotion in a couple of years but it's not a big pay rise.
The one good thing is OH now being able to contribute a little here and there will bring the food budget down - so I could potentially OP another £40 or so a month, but even so it's small fry. I won't be giving up though. :money:Choose kind0 -
Hiya Pinky! Thanks! I feel another load of FBing coming on. We have a declutter person coming to help DD sort out her room so it's more 'teenagery' (her word!) so I sense a whole mountain of clothes and stuff being cleared out and into the storage room. TBH it's a good thing as the idea is that she can then manage her room herself, putting away clothes, keeping on top of kit and music stuff etc. My goal is still to have the storage room turned into a sitting room by Christmas!Choose kind0
