You do like a quiet life, don't you! 🙄😁
Solar sounds interesting and a good future investment.
Good to see you're still trogging along and doing so well!
ATB,

These homes are an expensive business aren't they? I hope it all gets sorted.
It's a shame that Barclays doesn't give you much functionality. I am with Natwest and (while I haven't used most of them) I have seen that it gives you options for both one off and regular overpayments.1 -
Hazelnutty, have you looked under the government green homes grant as lots of solar is included in that at the moment? I’d have put it on my house but the roof faces the wrong way and I can’t put it on the front as we are in a conservation area. Panels are definitely included and it’s not means tested. If you take loads of photos of the setbacks as you go along then when you make a photo book at the end of your project it’ll make it even more satisfying to look back on. You’re definitely getting there, one baby step at a time. Please don’t beat yourself up about having to spend more on it than you planned - as one of my uncles always says “We’re too poor to buy cheap shoes”. Sometimes it has to be decent stuff, done right, to save in the long run.“Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming” 🐠https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6098084/discount-duck-s-quest-for-mortgage-freedom#latest3
