Thanks, Karma. A bargain at under £3! It was also quite relaxing doing the rubbing and buffing
Positives for today:
* Plumber is still AWOL but one of our lovely new neighbours gave us a name and fingers crossed he can come in.
* I read a really good article about getting into a good place before winter and made a list of small things that'll help me feel better about the next few months and more likely to get through it in reasonable shape. £23 has bought me some string lights and hooks and a scented candle to brighten up my home office as the days get shorter. I'm also doing a daily mile round the local park in the mornings

@Hazelnutty
thanks for mentioning the fact that we need to get ready for winter! We truly need to find ways to cheer ourselves up and you are doing well in that regard by renovations and all the things you are doing! The string lights will also be nice over Christmas when we are all cozied in! With all the socialising restrictions gone is best whether we like it or not!XXInitial mortgage bal £487.5k, current £266.8k, target £243,750(halfway!)

Love the idea of prepping for winter! We just got given a little electric stove (one that looks like an old fashioned log burner type thing) for free so hoping that makes our living room a little cosier! I also love a scented candle (can highly recommend Morrisons ones at £1.50 they are really good!) but that's possibly cos I have 2 kittens who can really be smelly at times 😂Current mortgage (1 Jun 2022): £289,501 - originally £351,999 got to love London sized mortgages!

Oh rugby, I love the sound of your stove. I want one for myself!
What are your lights like Hazel? Do you have a link? I'm imagining these https://www.lights4fun.co.uk/products/20-maple-leaf-micro-fairy-lights3 -

Here are my lights @killerpeaty I bought come command strip fairy light hooks (yes there is actually a specific product for this!) so it was super-easy. I managed to get the lights, hooks and a large scented candle for £23, which I'm pretty pleased with.

Yes, I thought it was a good article for preparing and considered the current circumstances. I just knew when you said string lights it would be that one as the author admitted her love of them! It does all seem a bit overwhelming at the moment, I agree.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
