Ok. So can anyone give me any clues how I pay in a cheque these days?

So you scan it with our smart phone?

    Ideally it would be Santander
but I have accounts with most major banks that pay interest on current accounts

    Thanks you

I've used Halifax app to pay in cheques, no issues.

If your app fails you can deposit cheques these days via post offices, just check with your own bank if you need any additional documents eg paying in book/envelope.

Not board enough to write myself a cheque lol

    I don’t have a Halifax account.

Thanks for the reminder about post office.
I can get to one of them.

I've used the Lloyds app with no problems.
    Really easy and straight forward.

Yes. Certainly for first direct and Tesco. Probably others too.
