Hi,
Has anyone done this sort of thing? They reckon they pay around £50 - £90 for delivering 600 books (depending on the route).
I'm thinking of giving it a go but just wondered what peoples experiences of this sort of thing were.
Thanks in advance0 -
i did it a few years ago i got £55 for delivering 1000 books , it took almost 2 weeks and imo was not worth it .This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Thats a lot of trips in your car too, as yellow pages is very heavy and probably only get a hundred or so in car at any one time0

Tried this a few years back. I had to attend a brief instruction presentation and collect the books at a set time (2 car trips). I then took hours to deliver about a quarter of them and decided it wasn't worth bothering so rang them up to ask them to collect them as I couldn't complete. I obviously got paid nowt and put it down to a learning experience.
I would only contemplate this if you have a few days to spare (but don't believe their assurances of how long they say it will take) and are desperate enough to work out in the cold and wet for about £2.50 an hour.
Sorry it's not more positive but I honestly wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.0 -
its really not worth the wear and tear on the car and would probably take 2 of you 4 full days.I used to do leaflet distribution and got payed £150.00 per 5oo and it would take 3 of us 3 days.0

My friend did it once. The books are thick and heavy, so you can only carry 2-3 at a time. You need to factor in parking up, then frequent trips back to the car for more books. This can be a nightmare in places with poor parking arrangements.
My friend and her husband did it together, and one would move the car along the street, while the other one dropped the books off. Then they would swop over for a bit! She said it was very hard work and by the time they added up the time it took 2 people to do the job, she said it wasn't worth it.Here I go again on my own....0 -
My DH and I did this 2 years running. It was such a lot of hard work. Ours were quite rural routes and we found it very dangerous to try and stop safely.
We couldn't face it for a third time!Smoke free since 16th December 20120 -
