    Ignore, ignore and ignore again.

They've got the nerve of the devil to try "insisting" they should be able to park in someone else's garden (ie yours).

You could try just walking past them and literally saying nothing and that's what I would do personally in your position.

Alternatively, just say "It's MY garden" and, if they pipe up again "What part of the word MY didn't you understand?"

Don't let them hound you out of your own home. You'd have all the hassle, thousands of £s expense, and having to tell potential buyers about this (which might put them off).

Why even think of putting yourself through that? Just literally ignore them/walk straight past them without saying a word or, apparently, hearing them trying to talk to you. If you think they might trespass in your garden, then put in lockable bollards or something and then you have physical access to your driveway and they don't.

    Hi.

I just wanted to follow this up with a request for advice.

The driveway has obviously now been in for a while but as people have moved in, cars in the area have increased and roadspace is getting tight.
I am getting frequent grief from neighbours insisting that they should be able to park on my driveway. (I have room for two cars, I own one car and occasionally, have visitors using the second space).

I don't want their cars on my driveway and am fed up of defending how I use MY land. If they wanted driveways, perhaps they should have bought a different house, or they're very welcome to move.

It has got to the point where I am seriously considering putting my house on the market and moving. I purposely park very far forward so there is no way they could partially park on there, but it's a pain that I even have to think about that.

It isn't selfish. I earned my house and have made the changes for me, nobody else. 1 space was lost on the road which is now the driveway entrance. My car would have been in that space.

What can I do to make it stop?

Before anyone suggests renting a space, I don't want the money and the inconvenience would outweigh it.

Let them use it, move or wait for them to move.

Short of saying no and don't ask me again it ain't going to stop.

Tell them they can park on your drive but it's £2000 per hour or part thereof. Cash upfront and they give you the right to sell their vehicle if they overstay.

I was in aldi today and they had some parking posts reduced to £12.99.

    Get yourself one.

    I think it will stop.

I've had similar problems and I just ignored the neighbours concerned in the end and they've had to shut up. All they do now is glare at me every time they see me. But glares can't actually have any effect and so I pretend I've not noticed them.

Can you put something in the other half? Like some large pots with nice plants.. then the driveway has space for only one car, and if it ever needs two permanent spaces it's easy to amend. Visitors will have to park on the street though but that shouldn't be stopping them from visiting you

Can you park your car so that it is taking up the two spaces? Diagonally across the two perhaps?

Not that you should have too mind.

Tell them to FO. Your name is on the mortgage/property deeds, not theirs.
