McDonalds Wrong Burger

I am a Vegetarian of 43 years since 1975.
The rest of the family are not. But my daughter often buys from McDonalds approx once a fortnight. They now have a Vege de luxe burger which is approved by the Vegetarian Society so I always have that. However the last time we all had McDonalds meals I bit into the Burger and instantly realised it was a meat one. My daughter tells me it was a chicken burger - and it had been put into a Vege Box. I was pretty upset they had done this so I tried to phone the local outlet in Ferndown, Dorset. But there phone was constantly engaged. So I tried to phone McDonalds UK HQ but I just got left hanging on the phone with music. This went on until they closed at 6pm.
I therefore put an email together and sent it to Paul Pomroy, UK CEO plus a copy to McDonalds CEO in USA and a copy to the local outlet plus the Food Standards Agency. [I always find its best to complain as high up the chain of command as you can]
To date I have heard nothing - not even an acknowledgement.
As an aside to this, and bearing in mind the horrific allergy stories we have been hearing lately, I think this has implications with regard to food labelling. In other words its fine to label the ingredients of all food - but what happens if they put the food in the wrong container/wrapping.
Any ideas about what I can do if nobody seems interested. Thanks

I suppose like in many cases, it is a fairly minor error with (thankfully) no real damage done. If the restaurant manage had handled it correctly at the time then probably no need to take it further. The lack of response is the most infuriating thing because it leaves you thinking they don't care.
I'd flag it on their social media channels and try and get a response that way.0 -
Human error, mistakes happen, you'll be fine.0

I'm pretty sure once opened you knew the difference and could choose not to eat it. Bit into it without looking, yeah right, are you blind?
Take it back and either get a refund or a repalcement. That is all you are owed. Well all your daugther is owed if she bought it.
Get over it, poorly paid overworked staff can make mistakes.0 -
Next time check what you've got before you bite into it. The two burgers in question look entirely different.0

What resolution do you want from it?0

Most McDonalds are franchises, and you get a result if you contact the franchisee. Ours has their contact details on the receipts - when I emailed a complaint to them, it got a quick response and a note in their 'customer service book' that I was to be given a free burger next time I was in store.
So perhaps let your daughter return to the store and this time keep the receipt, checking it to see if there are alternate contact details? You can email explaining that the delay is because you tried McD head office but with no joy.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Perhaps it's just me but I never bite into takeaway food like that without checking it's ok first. I always lift the lid on a burger.0
