Use the car. ( You wanted me to say that).
Use the bike or your hopping legs. (You wanted me to say that).
Find a safe lily-pad to park your frogmobile. Far enough away to prevent ranting house owners. Not too far to walk or hop. About 20 minutes maximum walk.
Choose each day as it comes. Or toss a coin
Heads I hop (and pocket the parking money)
Tails I park at work. (and pay over the parking money)
Umbrellas in the shape of a frog will keep frogs dry on the odd days that it rains.
You might need a golfing umbrella now, but next year you will only need a kid's umbrella to cover your assets.

    now go and hop-a-long!!

    Mortgage-free Glee!
If I had a decent bike I would be doing this myself. I think that we are getting too reliant on cars. How did our ancestors get about?!

As an incentive, why not put your carpark money into a jar every time you cycle until Christmas and then treat yourself to something as a little present to yourself just before the hols?

    Get your bike out!

I used to cycle 4miles to and from work every day for 6 years and I was very fit :j and MUCH slimmer than I am now :o

Get a decent set of waterproofs and some thermal gloves and you'll be fine! I had panniers so that I could shop on the way home - we had no car at all then so I used to do a bit every night  Oh, and keep a towel and a change of clothes at work just in case :D of sudden unexpected downpours :rotfl:

You're SO making me want a bike now. I'm moving soon to somewhere flatter... Where does one buy cheap bikes?!

And I think cycling from a little distance then making the journey longer as you get used to it is a GREAT idea.

Frogga, if you can do it for 3 months, I'll buy myself a bike and start cycling!

Have alook in Asda for a bike, OH got a nice one from there for about £80.
Or look on the supermarket advert boards, I got my first bike from there for £6 - it lasted me 2 years then I got another secondhand one from a girl at work (almost new) for £30.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I so agree. I've read this thread in one go, and found myself thinking, mmmmmm I'd like to try a bike. The trouble is I've never had a bike, the most I ever had was the occasional *borrow* of my brother's when the parents weren't watching. They felt London roads were too dangerous for their little girl:o ( Shame they didn't feel the same about her doing housework, but that's another story:rotfl: ) I also don't know where or on what occasion I'd ride one, but I'm sorely tempted.
You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

I hear you! I was allowed a bike, I just wasn't allowed to ride it anywhere near roads! The garden, round and round and round and round. Air beach, up and down and up and down and up and down, and the waste ground outside the factory after shutting time...I never learned how to turn properly and I can't take my hand off the handle bars to indicate!:rotfl:

    Still, never too late!
