  • Spain will give you something to look forward to.

I agree that gardening will use up lots and lots of calories and get you back on track hopefully.

You do have some lovely relatives :).

    Morning,

Yesterday I made a roast beef dinner for the first time in my life!!!! Usually if it's roast beef I just buy it pre cooked. My Mums idea of cooking roast is well well well done - tough as an old boot but I gave it a go yesterday for family following my sisters instructions - it was lovely. It's a tiny thing but when you make something for other people and it turns out well.....relief.

I weeded the garden as well yesterday as I have 3 gardening related things to do when I'm on leave but I also want to relax. I also plan on going out with my sister round the shops on Wed. She is going on a hen weekend and wants sunny things and I want house bits and bobs. Will make a day of it and have lunch but until then I still have the hedge to cut and a lane to strim. The hedge is along a field so you can imagine the size...if it was just a wee front garden hedge I wouldn't be whingeing....as much :o.

I also need to pop to Asda as we are out of washing powder and other necessities. The local shop is a bit too expensive for washing powder etc. So plan of attack for today is to cut the hedge by lunchtime. Get washed up and then head to Asda all before I pick up my nephew from school. I better get my skates on :)
  • Good luck with the hedge cutting, that sounds like quite a job . The bagging up can be just as tiring I always think.

Well done on the roast beef! I think that's tough to get right, especially if people like it cooked differently!

    Hi all,

Back to work today but I was very busy so no time to sit and mooch and wish I was at home.

I managed to get all the jobs done that I had planned when I was on leave and it is lovely to drive home and see the hedges and lane cut and know that I should have a while before I have to do it again and maybe next time I can bribe nephew to help.

I went shopping with my sister yesterday and bought very boring practical things for the house. I also had lunch with sis and nephew (convenient tummy bug hit him when he overheard us planning our day out).

Money front - debt is up a bit - I've paid a bit extra for our holiday and sister owes me for her share but I'm not going to push her because she is very reliable and I will get it....eventually.

I'm meeting ex OH niece for breakfast this weekend and that is really all my plans at the moment. Survive tomorrow and then settle in for another weekend :)

    Morning,

Busy procrastinating and hoping boss doesn't walk in while I'm busy committing again to getting rid of the debt & losing another stone by our holiday at the end of August :)

    Debts

New bathroom loan - total £4,255. I pay £240 to this per month and have 17 months to go, so it should be gone by Dec 2020 (if not before.) At least I have something to show for it.

Credit card - £1472.50. The CC is 0% and I have no real excuse for it creeping up again. As sister has 2 kids coming with us on holiday I paid a bit extra towards flights and hotel but I know I have a good enough job and I can pay it of. I'm going to pay £150 pm which gives me 10 months to clear (March 2020) but fairly confident it will be cleared sooner.

    Very - £324 - new bed - (pay nothing for 6 months.)

    Total - £6,051.50:(.

In order to address the debt I am going to try with more regular updates on here. I do have savings but 1 pot is locked away and the other is for my holiday (hopefully).

I will have to stop the frittering and to be honest apart from a tv stand, I have come to the end of things I wanted for the house. Coming up in June I'm going to Glasgow with my sister but it is all paid for already and I have put some spending money aside. July should be a quiet month apart from meeting friends. August is the family holiday and I need spending money pot.

Can't wait until I'm debt free again.

    Evening

Today was good. I did some volunteering this morning then met my friend for brunch. This afternoon was quite lazy but sorted out wardrobe & tried to get rid of stuff I just don’t wear & brought out some clothes from last summer.

I made dinner which was really basic.

Plans tmw might involve spends with nephew as he is lodging here for a week so his granny (& I) will spoil him rotten :). I’m currently looking to see what is on in the cinema and if we go there we will end up in McDonald’s.

Only other plans tmw is that I’m going to look at budget as I fritter so can afford to put that money in savings rather than spending it on odds & sods.
  • Good luck with your new debt journey. At least you spent most of it on a new bathroom which will add value to your house.

Have a lovely time spoiling nephew :).

    Morning,

I’ve been awake since about 5 which is a bit annoying as I was looking forward to sleeping in.

Sister texted from airport as she is on a hen weekend - she sent me a pic of her beer about 7am _pale_ way way too early for me.

Eating front - I think I’m going to try intermittent fasting to get rid of the next stone before our August holiday. I’m going to do 16:8 ratio and I’m not sure if it is the reduced eating time that helps lose the weight or the lack of snacking. The 50% veg/salad at each meal could also be the reason - wish me luck :).

Not many plans today - mass, budgeting, mini grocery haul and fun with nephew & pup (he is now used to his cone of shame).
