  • I hope your mum is okay. I agree it would be a good idea to try and bring the ultrasound forward.

Well done on the 5K :). Cars are very expensive to run :(.

Congrats on the 5k!:j But I hope your knee is on the mend! Good idea to try and get Mum's appointment brought forward - I hope you are successful. How annoying too about the delay in your pay increase! Still, at least it will be a nice lump sum when it arrives. I hope you have a good Easter Munchin.

Thanks HHD & SSG - I hope you both has a lovely Easter.

Mum's appointment was brought forward to Friday past!!! Our Easter bank holidays are Mon & Tues here so they saw her on Good Friday. She does have an aorta aneurysm (if I can spell) which is bad but as it is less than 5cm it might just need monitored at this stage but we will not know until she sees a specialist.

We still had a lovely Easter as things could have been so much worse. Then sister, nephew, dogs & I all went for a walk along the river to walk of our dinner (not done that since we were kids).

Yesterday we ventured to the shops just for fresh fruit & veg - think I was starting to reach my chocolate limit over Easter and really wanted a salad. Popped into Lidl and managed to spend £36 :o but it should do us a few days as we had lots of turkey and gammon leftovers from Sunday.

Tomorrow is the first day I'm going to run to test out my knee - not sure how it will go. If it is still playing up then I will just rest it a bit longer.

I'm heading to Dublin this weekend with friends for a volunteer thing - so all food and drink paid for...I can't wait :D

[STRIKE]June - England (trip to sister but need flights and accommodation) - £0/£600[/STRIKE] - sister says she is coming home in June :)
Holidays - Aug (Spain) & Nov (Sri Lanka - wait & see what Embassy says but keep saving) - £1,850/£4,000

    Spends needed - £4,150
    Spends saved - £2,250 (54%)
  • I'm glad you were able to bring your mum's appointment forward and I hope she doesn't have to wait too long to see a specialist.

You sound like you had a lovely family Easter :). I know what you mean about reaching a chocolate limit. I only had chocolate on Easter Sunday but I ate a whole Easter egg that day and it gave me a sore throat :(. So I was glad to go back to my healthy eating after that.

I think I'd be tempted to go somewhere other than Sri Lanka for my holiday, but then I scare easily :o.

Hi HHD - I know what you mean about Sri Lanka but it is actually a family members hotel I would be staying at, which is why I'm just saving and will wait and see what happens. Thankfully they are far enough away from Colombo that they were not affected and all their friends/colleagues are accounted for.

Managed a really short run this morning but the good news is that knee held up - more rest & strengthening and I should be ready for leg of the Belfast marathon on 05th May.

Didn't realise you are running the Belfast marathon - good luck with that. That's awesome :D

    Hi

Thanks but I’m only running a leg of the marathon (4.2 miles)😊. I have run the full marathon before which is the reason for the bad knee 😔.

Oh no :( I did a couple of half marathons a few years ago and I think I strained my IT band, so I couldn't run long distances after that.

4.2 miles is not to be sniffed at, so well done for going for it :)
