Having just made myself mop the floor and tidy before I came on your thread was funny.

    :)

My house isn't perfect or that tidy actually but it's workable - yep - I'm a flylady convert - bought the book a year and a half ago but it only really started working about 8 months ago (actually, probably about 5 months ago). I've sold a lot of our stuff on ebay, charity shopped the rest so there is a lot less stuff in the house.

Tonight I've been gripped by a thread about trying to live off rations over on the OS board, but have had housework and school work to do as well, so I set my timer and allowed 15 mins on here, 15 on school work and 15 mins on housework (I worked fast and cleared the kitchen, did washing up, set table and did a bit of ironing). Then repeated the cycle. House is messy in places, but I'll attempt another 15 mins tomorrow :)

Ah, cute, how'd I miss that?

To be fair, mine don't have accidents, just dirty paws  . They have a litter tray for when they're in at night (eldest was in an RTA just over a year ago).

They short haired so no hairdressers or furballs fortunately.

Is there any way to add pics without having to upload them online somewhere?

If you have a photo of them on your PC, you can browse for avatars amongst your folders, (I think!). I worked it out & I'm no techo whizz:rotfl:

My house is relatively tidy, but I have a bit of a lack of storage space in my bedroom and until thats sorted it will always have piles of clothes and "stuff" laying round in there  :D
The bathroom is pretty good as I clean it while ds is in the bath, so that gets done most days ;) the kitchen is generally pretty good ... the lounge is okay except for near the sofa where I sit with the laptop :o ... always piles of junk nearby :o:o:o
But I know what you mean, I'm exactly the same, I write lists and lists and lists ... then turn the computer on and Ping ... its like I'm concreted to the sofa :rotfl:

Get a dishwasher. You can just put things in as you go, even as you dish up dinner.

A bit of the flylady has stayed with me I think. I've cleared lots of 'places' out over the weekend and was at the point this afternoon where loads of stuff was everywhere without a home. Didn't know where to start and just kept looking at it, making little panicky sounds so set my timer and did 5 minute bursts between kitchen, hall and lounge. It did work well so maybe I should try 15 minutes next time.

D&DD - will dust the book off and take it to bed to read tonight! ;)
  • I've just spent the past hour cleaning. We got back from SIL's party and walked into a complete disaster zone. Why is it going out and coming back makes everything look so much worse???
In the past hour I have...

sorted out the MOUNTAIN of dry clothes and hung them up.
Sorted out all the clothes that Ash had taken out of the drawers this morning... (5 drawers.. each of them usually full of clothes.. emptied onto her bedroom floor )
Gathered the dirty washing which is now overflowing the washing basket.
Tidied up and hoovered the living room which was trashed.
Swept the kitchen twice because by the time I'd finished it needed doing again.
Emptied and cleaning the cat's litter tray
    cleaned the surfaces and hob
emptied the bin and cleaned the lid
mopped the floor and disinfected the mop
    disinfected Ash's dinner table

SERIOUSLY had enough now. I hate cleaning and there's still washing up to do and some to put away which is DH's job but he's passed out on the sofa :mad::mad: so guess who'll be doing THAT TOO.

Not impressed. Not cut out for 'housewife' stuff at all I hate it hate it hate it!

Needless to say my house is usually a tip. This is a combination of..

    smallish house
    lots of stuff
    2 kids under 3
one hubby who works full time
me being expected to look after the kids AND the house on my own.

    sorry rant over...

Thanks, I can do the avatar bit but I just wanted to stick a couple of pics of the cats into my post. Maybe I'll load them on my avatar one at a time. :D
