Does anyone on here have a tidy house..?

My house is fairly tidy at the moment, mainly because my DD computer is broken and if I go off my computer for a minute (make a cup of tea for instance) I have lost it for the rest of the day. So I rushed in from work today , took the washing off the line, put another load out, fed the rabbit, emptied and refilled the dishwasher, cleaned the kitchen units up, folded the washing and got on here before she got home from school/ so haAnyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

I'd be happy to explain a bit about flylady - what in particular? I have to say, I did need the actual book, rather than just the website which did overwhelm me a bit.
What I do is try to have a bedtime routine - for me it's simply clearing the kitchen, laying the breakfast table and filling kettle, putting teabags in cups etc. Then if I feel up to it I might sweep the floor. Then I try to lay out my clothes next to my bed for the next day - so I don't even have to think about it!
My morning routine is up, shower, wake the kids, (already sorted their clothes the night before - takes seconds) and dress. I wipe around sink with my cleansing wipe (after using!!!) (BOGOF in tescos btw). All done.
Eat breakfast - dump dishes in hot water in sink and out the house.
Home routine is simply washing up, checking on washing (might put a load in in the morning if time) hanging out if nec. Then nothing! I have a menu plan (for money reasons more than being organised flylady style) so I have an idea of what I'm cooking.
Then it repeats.
On a monday I do a weekly home blessing hour.
You set a timer for 10 min - hoover as much as you can in that time (don't tidy - just push things out the way and don't move furniture).
Then another 10 - change bed sheets - timer makes you rush - good as I HATE this job
Then another 10 mins- quickly cleaning mirrors/windows- doesn't have to be perfect - whatever you do will be better than it was before.
10 mins - dusting - I just run round dusting anything!
10 mins - chucking out mags/newspaper - anything not in date - get rid!
10 mins ....ermm...oh yes, i think you mop any mopable areas - I just run a floor wipe over to be honest.
I also do 'zones' throughout the month, but this is a recent addition. I just do whatever the flylady missions tell me - declutter for 15 mins a day (week days only) and then go on to Kellys missions (today I wiped over the front of the cupboards in the kitchen).
Hope that helps a little.

Oh I wondered what all this flylady talk was all about - thanks Sea - thats great - I think I would like to give it a go - I like the idea of having to rush about as opposed to dragging my lard a$$ about doing things slowly because I hate doing them ................ its not so much that I hate cleaning and tidying them - I used to be so anal before I had my son - everything in its place - the place was sparkling and now that my little man is 2 - he is like a tornado - if I am in another room with my back turned - well thats my fault and there is stuff everywhere - you feel like 'WHY DO I BOTHER?' and thats not really me - I do love a clean and tidy home and I am seriously into de-cluttering.
What is the flylady website - shall I just type that into google?
Thanks0 -

oooo I am a bit of fly lady convert. I don't follow the emails/ website though, I have adapted it to suit me and it is true that it takes something 4 weeks to become a habit. It's just me and my OH (he cooks, I clean) but we live in the smallest flat in world, work long hours and I study part time too.
In the mornings (and bearing in mind I am up at 5.30 and leave for work at 6.30) I rinse down the shower, wipe down the sink and dump bleach down the loo. I put all the breakfast things in the dishwasher and then put it on. Make sure the sink and work surfaces are wiped down (if necessary).Make the bed.
I get in from work at about 6, I spend 15-30 mins tidying & cleaning. I have a list of jobs to be done weekly- properly clean the bathroom, hoover and swiffer the floors (all wooden), dust and clean windows and mirrors. I am pretty ruthless at throwing things away!
OH cooks the evening meal when he gets in (usually 7.30) cleans the kitchen and puts everything away. He also takes the rubbish and recycling out every night.
Washing is done at weekends, we only need to do two loads per week, it is put away as soon as it is dry. I hate having it hanging around.
I'm quite organised, I plan what I am going to wear to work each day and have it all lined up and ready in the wardrobe for Monday morning so I don't need to think about it.
When I get my post it goes in one of 3 places, 1. the bin- most of it is junk, 2. My handbag, if it needs to be dealt with, I do this in my lunch hour/ at quiet times, 3. My filing box. I sort the box out every few weeks/ when it gets full.
I have just realised that I am pretty anal- in fact I have turned into my Mother!!!!!Saving for an early retirement!0
