I remember my MIL saying she was envious of me because I "enjoyed my kids", whereas she couldn't do that until the house was immaculate. her boys had to stay in the play pen until all of the housework was done. Mine have had some fun and built up some strong immunities in the process  . My DD adapted well to student squalor :o
  • I love Flylady, i think she is fab!I got the book the only problem is that I live with my Mum, when she was away i got right into it but Mum gets annoyed if I interfere with the housework.

I am not quite on track yet, as I never really got sorted since I decorated have TONNES of stuff for e bay. must follow the baby steps.

the thing is tonight i had all these plans, but then the Goldfish where ill(beat that for a lame excuse!) and i had to sort out the tank. am too knackered to do anything now not to mention the facts nearly 11 oclock.

    - so in response to the OP question my room is a tip. and this month so is my money.

    sigh. must remember BABYSTEPS!!!!!!!!

and what is it? housework done inperfectly still blesses your house

    Nevertheless she persisted.

  • I have just signed up for flylady. I am going to shine my sink, as soon as I have done all the washing up in it - and cleared things on the floor on the path to it!

I am fairly tidy but with 2 dogs there is a constant supply of dog hair everywhere. Also dogs love to whoosh their bodies along every available surface.
There is no issue so small that it can't be blown out of proportion

OK< i have been trying to get my little boy to sleep for ages so I can clean up, he is finally asleep (fingers crossed) so I am going to leave this site and try shine my sink or something!
  • :T I understand completly what some of you are saying!

Very, very rarely do I have friends round because I'm embaressed!
If I know someone is coming (we had a bonfire party at weekend so I cleaned n tidied like a mad woman!) I'll have a good clean up.
I think because the whole house is half decorated (start somewhere then stop etc) it makes things look worse and it sooo gets me down!
I've been on and off this thread all morn though doing 'bits'. Thanks guys lol!
Bedroom is a mess though...hubby is asleep in there coz he works nights so I can't do anything during the day. Can't do anything at night either coz the kids would be in and out and we have their pressies stashed, lol...My excuse anyway!
When it is all straight and tidy I feel sooo much better. My whole mindset is clearer and calmer.
Daft how 'mess' can cause so much stress.

Anyway...having a chill on here now, give my back a rest!

OK, little man is still asleep. I should do more cleaning but I have managed to
    - put another load in washer and a load to dry
    - washed up
    - cleaned kitchen floor (only rough clean, not got into corners etc)
    - quick hoover of room (again, just immediate areas, hoover is crap anyway and doesnt pick all bits up, awaiting new carpet)
    - did a little tidy, still lts of crap about, but it helps
    - wiped the outside door, flylady said to concentrate on the outside door when I looked the other day.
    - I also managed to make 2 important phonecalls, even though neither had the anwsers for me and I need them to ring me back.
