Another bright, sunny and uplifting day.

Merida88 Ouch to leaving the immersion on.
No idea regarding the cc applications, but I can see the sense of having a 2nd card fork work expenses. Sorry for not being of no help what so ever.

Floxgloves Lovely to see you posting, take care of yourself.

CLF Good luck to your OH with the wasps' nest.
Good to hear your feeling better.

Ally Happy to have you back refreshed.

PurpleFairy Thank you for the Thai curry update - still debating whether to try it, I love Thai food, children less so.

BB, glad to be of service ;) I can't meal plan for a week as life always get in the way and I end up not following it so having a meal plan for a few days helps me to allow for the regular curve ball! Enjoy the theatre :)
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

I have come up with 7 main meals, some of which have been assigned days. Others are on the list for us to choose closer to the time. We have all the ingredients in for everything, most of them were already in stock freezer/fridge/store cupboard.

I am hoping to defrost both freezers in the next week or so. Hoping to have reduced the combined contents so it can all go into 1 whilst we defrost the other, then swap the contents to the defrosted freezer whilst we defrost the 2nd freezer. Then we can reorganise the contents so it is stored logically and restock things we have run out of like peas, followed by some batch cooking.

Afterwards improve freezer economy by filling any spaces in the freezer with cardboard boxes, newspaper or milk cartons with the lids on. Each time you open your freezer, cold air escapes and warm air flows in. The majority of the energy your freezer uses goes towards cooling down the air that comes in when you open the freezer door. When your freezer is full, there is less room for warmer air to take up. So keeping it full means less energy used.

  • Morning frugal ones :hello:

Dawn hope babysitting is ok today and easier than last time. We too live in a dull town, but within about a mile in each direction there are some amazing places :D

Ah, empty freezer space, I remember 2001 when I last had it, I think.....before I'd found my inner DFW'er and found that pretty much anything can be frozen (except cucumber) :rotfl:

    Anyway list for today:
Working in another town so nice to do both a different drive and work to buy lunch :D
Man back doing more work on the house yesterday he did something inside a cupboard, looks amazing and although no one is ever going to see it, I know it's good :D payment will come from house piggie
    Packed lunches made
Triage fridge, freeze anything that needs it :rotfl:
    Builder coming tonight
Book date for radiator to be fitted, very impressed so far with their service
Work out what we're having for tea and make sure it's either in fridge or out to defrost
    Check banking
Move cashback from new app shopping savings to savings account (I'd recommend this app based on less than a weeks use if you've not tied it before called shopmium. And I'll be cheeky, if anyone wants to use my referral code it's 728n2, then feel free) currently have a big bar of branded chocolate in the fridge which was a free sign up offer.

Have a good day everyone :D

    Morning folks!

Ally - freezer space... u so hilarious :D

Well we sprayed the wasp nest and lived to tell the tale. Still signs of significant activity though so a repeat treatment tonight methinks.

    It's my "Friday" - hooray!

    Today's dfw things:
    • B/L/D from stores
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • Gym at lunchtime. Have to work up to a nice heavy deadlift today so let's see how it goes! - hit 90kg again, almost locked out 92.5kg but it slipped out my fingers before I could lock out. Grrrrrrr
    • No sugary things - done
    • No alcohol - erm....
    • Poss start crocheting glove. Will have to do it this weekend.
    • Try to get the wasp nest. - done
    • Had a little go at descaling the kettle with some vinegar, but didn't make much difference. May not actually be limescale though... poss some other mineral deposit? We live in a soft water area - done
    • Return Christmas present bought for OH - it looks cheap and nasty. Sadly not free return but def worth it given the price of the item
    • Print out return label at work - done
    Have a good one all
