I’m at about £65 already but got a lot of meat and stuff
Going to be rejigging my kitchen around so hopefully get my cooking mojo back more when it’s sorted
I’ve cooked once at work too which always helps it’s just a halogen, grill and a multi cooker but it means either home cooked food at work for tea or cook at work then heat up at home. Reduces takeaway / cost
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb
  • Since last post we have spent £7.88.

Bought 1.25kg sweet potatoes, 2.5kg white potatoes, 1.28kg bananas, 10 satsumas, 4 large pears, 4 nectarines, 175g pot of edamame, pot of caramelized onion houmous, 8 packs of salt and vinegar rice cake snacks, a pack of Nairs salt and vinegar oat snacks and a loaf of bread.

Tonight for my dinner will be the last of the yasai itame with two butternut squash and sweet potato onigiri.
OH still has lasagne left so he'll be having that for dinner tonight.

    £73.67/£200.
    £126.33 left.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D
  • thriftwizard & medsdemon Sorry to hear about your troubles, wishing you both well.

First spends of the month came to £6.58. Got 4kg potatoes, large bowl tomatoes, ginger, limes, peppers, beetroot, 6 pks crisps & sparkling water, the water can apparently replace eggs & oil in cakes. We shall see. I want some Alpro yoghurt from Waitrose and that should be it 'till next Saturday. My new fave drink, slightly altered from 'A Girl Called Jack' is lemon, ginger, golden syrup, turmeric & black pepper, topped up with boiling water. Have a lovely rest of w/e everyone.

Sorry it has been such a hard time medsdemon. :(

So far so good... £18.50 out of £155 spent to date. Need a few bits of fruit and veg for the coming week and some eggs to bake a cake for the charity coffee morning on Mon, but that shouldn't come to too much should it? We'll see... :o

  • Evening all. Today has been a NSD but Thursday and Friday we had some spends.

€7.50 for 2 sets of Babybel. A 12-ct for OH to take on the plane with him and a 6-ct for me to snack on throughout the day.

€37.36 at Delhaize for loads of snacks and toilet paper. I sent OH there to get just literally 4 items and he came back with 10+ items!! The total was actually over €40 but I subtracted the pack of batteries he got for his trip. He's so bad at shopping when he's stressed. :rotfl: The good thing is that a couple of the items are ones I would've bought within the week anyway, such as eggs or berries.

    TOTALS SO FAR:
    €79.61 / €300.00
    2/12 NSD

Jeez. He seriously blew 10% of the budget just because he was stressed. Those of you who remember the September thread and his manic grocery buying for my birthday party can now hopefully understand what I was talking about. :rotfl: Oh well. I'll pare back in other places. Tomorrow morning I'll head out to get a few items such as butter, ground beef, and some other bits. There's a lot of meat in the freezer but I need more veg and a few basics. The sig's been updated. Have a good night everyone!

    Hi all!

I have bee AWOL for last 2 months, got lost keeping up to date in summer weeks with the kids around and it has been bugging me for weeks that i need to get up to date! I set myself the target of doing it today and although it is nearly 1am, I will finish it before I go to bed!! :A

So I had kept all my receipts and found the time to get them all sorted out today - went well over my usual £600 budget in August up to £750, but that was due to kids being around and being on a self catering weekend as well as paying for food (and alcohol!) when we went to visit the in laws!

Worked hard in September and managed to get it down to just over £500 to make up for the overspend! :T

So still on annual target and looking to reduce this target again next year once I have a clearer understanding of a total year of spending to review! :D

So back to my £600 this month please and will get back into my Thursday updates from this week I hope! Night all!!

  • Hi everyone
well I have placed an Asd+ order to be delivered on Monday night. I booked the last slot as it was only £1 delivery charge.
That is the good news the bad news is I spent £90. However I did spend £20 on soap powder, £10 on deoderant, and £10 on cleaning materials.
That leaves me £50 for the remainder of the month. I honestly don't think I will manage as I have reduced my GC budget this month.
Will try to be strict especially with carrying lunches to work as that is my downfall.
Good luck and good wishes to all.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Feeling more positive after a long walk in the Autumn sunshine yesterday.

We had a small spend in Moggies of £7.20 but it was on YS stuff that I couldn’t leave on the shelf- 2 GF loaves at 78p each, a pack of GF wraps for 38p !!, 12 eggs for 20p, sausages for 63p and 2 Mexican chicken meals at 94p each that we had last night ( one cooked and put away for a weekday lunch ) plus a couple of tonics for our evening gin treat.

XSpender - I will try the enchiladas with the cheap wraps, but I am still going to give making my own a try.

Will update my sig. Tomorrow will need to go top up on toilet rolls as we’re down to hardly any 😳.

Cooking sausage meatballs with pasta tonight, then tomorrow I might make a curry or a parmigiana as I have 2 aubergines to use up. Or I could make a veggie chilli.... decisions decisions.

A £7.35 spent at Tesco on some freezer bits for the week. A bit of a strange, busy week coming up. I'm here, there and everywhere, so wanted a well-stocked freezer with bits I can throw together as and when!
Because it's fun to have money!
