  • Second spend of the month was £3.27, bringing spends to £9.85. Got

    2 Alpro Yoghurts = £2
    1 x Thai Green Curry Paste £1
    YS Bread 27p

Have cooked up loads of veggie mince, thai green veggie curry, soups, pizza (vegan) and frozen, also have lots of veg and salad left, so hopefully no shopping 'till Saturday. I'm doing £1 a day, to get me to use up stores and its working. Am slightly over, but hopefully it evens out.

Small spend for me at L*dl last night to pick up two packs of rice cakes (which I love with loads of
peanut butter!) so an additional £1.18 spent this week. That should be it now until the big shop on Friday/Saturday.

My fridge is already looking a little bare worryingly! But I have lunches sorted for the rest of the week as I made a big batch of chicken & quinoa soup last weekend, and I am going to root through the freezer to see what goodies I have stored in there! I have made the fatal mistake of not labelling any of my freezer meals, so it will be a surprise dinner! Anyone have ideas for cheap and easy freezer labels to help a girl out?!

    Total so far: £66.94/£125

  • Bigger spend today than anticipated as I decided to make the Christmas Cake as I’m between jobs atm and have time. Came to £33.57 with extra bits !!

So much for not needing to spend till Friday!! Plenty in for meals though so maybe not need to shop then? Put it off till Monday?

    Was a NSD yesterday though.

    Hi all

    Budgets updated to here

Sorry to hear of illnesses and sadly departed pets, it never gets easier.

I'm doing terribly again with my budget this month.

I am meal prepping VERY successfully now - making 2 lunches and 2 dinners a week for 5/6 days total and freezing any extra portions, plus breakfasts. This is definitley saving my overall grocery bill money (Currently this is about £25 a week for this) - the part where I'm struggling is buying a LOT of snacks/treats and binging - it's the binging part that is the problem and I'm trying a few things to deal with that. Still attending Slimming World but weight loss has ground to a halt (obviously!) and I haven't quite hit my 3.5 stone award yet. I'll have been going a year next week  only myself to blame so I just need to sort it out really, don't have any excuses!!

My budget was £250 this month but I've definitely blown that even though I've not added up all recent spends yet. Sigh!

On the plus side I've had NO alcohol at all since the last day of June, which I'm feeling very virtuous about!

Oh pamsdish, I hope that eases up very soon! And thanks for updating the budgets, elsiepac.

An accidental NSD here today as we went blackberrying instead of shopping. It was such a lovely day & really warm, and although we didn't get a huge amount, there were enough still out there (not to mention crab apples, & rosehips for wine) to make it worthwhile. There's no huge rush to buy stuff; I picked another ton of runner beans at the allotment, plus a couple of small courgettes, and there are still more to come if the frost stays away. Tomorrow will be time enough; it's forecast to be a grey day with rain in the afternoon.

  • Since last post we have spent £18.35.

Soya milk, 2 bottles tamari, sushi rice, sweet chilli sauce, 2 tins baked beans, 4 packs jackfruit, flora, milk, bread, double Gloucester cheese, cola and honey roast thick ham.

OH is making cheese and ham pasta.
I'm going to be having vegetable jackfruit Thai curry.

    £92.02/£200.
    £107.98 left.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D

I found sticking computer labels on a nightmare, can't get the bleedin things off, so I then cut strips of paper and sellotaped each end, which was good, but now have chalk pens. I just use the pens for the freezer and write on the containers. You can prob buy the pens on their own, but I use the labels for other things. I got these but probably better deals, just to show you what I mean. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01M27LF1T/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Well done for that, that's really good. I'm doing 'Sober October', I've actually failed, as I had a couple of cocktails last week at a restaurant (entertainment budget), but hey i'm glossing over that and will go on 'till 3rd November to compensate - I have a tendancy to make up my own rules.

Oh dear, hope it heals soon.

I'm about to make curried leek & potato. Not sure if that's a thing, but just came into my mind - might turn out yuksville !! Anyone got any good oat bar recipes.
