It would be nice to see an LBA issued holding the exec personally liable.
If such things start to happen, then the parking companies business model may look a little shaky

Totally agree ... So, we have the bill coming up and let
us hope that Sir Greg Knight gets it right, if not he will
    be subject to disgrace

Then we have Brexit and if ... if, prices rise, people will
spend less and go to the cheapest place.
Only then will the penny drop with these supermarkets
who currently hold customers in contempt, they will be
crying out for customers to shop as long as they like

The first supermarket to grasp this and advertise on
TV that parking is free (regardless of the odd abuser),
will cream off the available cash and just like House of
Fraser, a few will go bust

Aldi and Lidl currently have the others shaking

    "What goes round comes round"

I think all of us could teach all the CEO's how to increase
    their profits ????
  • Quick update.
This morning I did visit the Sainsbury's and informed the customer assistant I would like to speak with branch manager. At first she needs to know what is all about and then she said as PCN have pictures of in & out times I'm at wrong and she can't call the manager for me to speak with.
Then I had to tell her that if I can't speak to manager I need her name as I'll email CEO with her name informing you have refused to call manager when customer is requesting to speak. Then she change her tone and went and call the CEM of the store.
He asked me to contact the Horizon Parking and see what is the outcome as he said this issue is nothing to do with him or the Sainsbury as they don't managing the parking. When I asked who employed Horizon Parking to manage the car parks he didn't gave me clear answer and asked me again to contact Horizon Parking and if matter did not solved come back and see him again.
I didn't feel he was helpful to my problem at all as customer of Sainsburys over 25 years.

OK, so update your complaint to the CEO, with this information about how the Store Manager & staff have lied to you and failed you, because you KNOW that Sainsburys can cancel any PCN from their agents, Horizon. And they seem clueless about the issues with ANPR that can unfairly affect customers.

And tell the CEO you are now escalating this to an Information Commissioner complaint about data misuse, and failure of the data stream from the ANPR system, and failure by Horizon to make sufficient manual checks by a human.

Tell the CEO that Sainsburys need to tell their stores that a 'double visit' error is a known (common) fault of ANPR. It is a known system failure, as mentioned in this official BPA article all about the flaw:

    https://www.britishparking.co.uk/ANPR
As with all new technology, there are issues associated with its use:
    a) Repeat users of a car park inside a 24 hour period sometimes find that their first entry is paired with their last exit, resulting in an ‘overstay’. Operators are becoming aware of this and should now be checking all ANPR transactions to ensure that this does not occur.

    b) Some ‘drive in/drive out’ motorists that have activated the system receive a charge certificate even though they have not parked or taken a ticket.

I've quoted all the above again as you need to show the info to Mike Coupe.

A further email to Mr Coupe about the arrogant way
his staff handles customers and that includes the manager

As I have said before, managers nowadays are glorified
shelf stackers ......... they should be called Team leaders
if they are capable of that
